well i just changed out my DWC res and added floranova grow for the first time. is there supposed to be so much foam???

should i be concerned???

it's about 675 ppm and the temps/hum are fine. what i'm really worried about are these:

so if you have any suggestions...for the first one i just cut off some rotted roots so perhaps it will clear up. i hope so! anyway, thanks for the help!

That looks quite strange, is this the first time you have used these nutes?
What are your temps in the water?
Have you used any ph up or down?
First off id do a rez change..somthing is not right there..only time iv seen anything like that is when i used Gnat-Off to to kill the larvae but that was only kept in the rez for 24 hrs.....

thanks very much for your suggestions, dr.d--

well the foam has gone down and it's normal now. the yellow one got worse and is prob. gonna die; the other one is fine tho. the ppm now is at 600, temp is fine, and ph is unsure but is thought to be normal. i haven't used any ph up/down.

i think the foam was just due to the floranova grow's high abundance of molasses and other sugar-like ingredients.

that yellow one has a sulphur deficiency it needs some micronutes with sulphur in it... you have anything with that?

are all of these the same strain thats in the dwc system?

could be...but doesnt flora nova grow have sufficient amounts of sulfur? I have used fng for a year now...and have never had a sulfur deficiency. So that leads me to believe that this is not a sulfer problem...

What kind of light do you have them under? It looks like a lack of light/nitrogen to me. just my opinion tho :)

must be a sulphur problem.

sunnyside, your tapwater may contain more sulphur than shitheads. Can easily be a deficiency even though ur using the same nute as him...

No nitrogen deficiency has ever started from the inside of the plant.

Shithead, I'm impressed with ur homemade hydro setup. Is that just a bucket with lots of netpots on :biglaugh:

Nice. Do you flower in that or is that just their vegging home?

absolutely right stitch...obviously if this was the first feeding...lol
black...you too are right about the nitrogen starting at the top...I musta been a little more stoned than usuall when I replied :) but to me it still looks like problems caused by low light levels.

but on the topic of sulfer and flora nova...flora nova grow has more available sulfer than Ionic grow, GH flora series, pure blend pro grow, dyna grow, foxfarms growbig, metanaturals, earth juice grow, and bio bizz grow just to name a few....

thanks guys! i really appreciate you taking the time to help me out! the yellow one died but all the others are looking good. they're under a 400 MH and i had it raised higher than normal to reduce stress from changing out the res and all.

yes, i will flower in these buckets as well, but haven't gotten that far yet. no they're not all the same strain, so that's prob. why there's so much variation.

the flora nova should work out fine-- this is the first time i'm using it. hopefully, i can get through this without there being any more problems, etc.
