hey everyone i have a Blueberry plant of unknow origin and it well take a look at for yourself..
all the bumps??

and open the pic and check out the stems and leaf burns?

My ferts are NPK 2-17-23.. what do you think could be the problem?

please help

Mr.P

Hey Mr.P,

Purple stems and burned tips is a sign of P deficiency.

Your NPK ratio is perfect, assuming enough N was given prior to flowering.

How often do you feed? once every other watering should be enough for your plants.

Are veins (under leaf) turning purple?

Are your temps around 68 at night and 75 during day? (more or less)

Is your PH ~ 6.5?

Your problem -if you are not overfeeding- is one or a combination of the above.

They look good though
Good luck

wel i was feeding a little more often then that due to the soil drying out really fast but i was watering with feed ever 5-7 days with no signs at first of anything and then wham all these things show up over night. i have since flushed with 6.7 ph ro water they got a health dose of N and the underside of the leafs are ok no color change. temps are a bit chilly at night around mids 50's to lower 60's at night and upper 70 when light are on.

Your plants look healthy. Although, the scarification on the fan leaves indicate pests of some sorts, perhaps an early attack of spidermites, or thrips.

Check your leaves through a loop, especially the underside of the leaves. I bet you'll find something.

This is one problem, get those temps up at night. Plants metabolism will stop if too hot or too cold. 74-78 in the day, 10 degrees or so cooler at night, no less.

I don't think thrips, more likely mites.

Thrips are tiny 1mm white/orange grain of rice, and the run away when you bother them. Look on the topsides for them and see if they move. They are fast and smart. Their damage leaves a silvery scarring, not dots.

Are those tops leaves going white or is it just the light? That's a sign of Iron def if it is. CalMag will fix it assuming your ph is correct.

Yes, a space heater with a built in thermostat....and a smoke alarm nearby (good idea anyway)

Must be the HID light bleaching out the colour in the pic, looking faded....but you say all is green so that is good.

I think the low temps are/were causing some nute locking, spots look like mild cal def. Add the heater and if they do not get worse and you have no pests than you are golden!

Blueberry is a light feeder, and your ferts are potentially potent, so go real easy. Look for some slight tipburn on most of the leaves and this indicates you are feeding optimum dosage. Too much and the leaves will burn up, not enough and you may see P def, green/gray dull blotches on your leaves, then yellowing burning curling tips as it gets worse...kinda like tipburn but not the same....don't confuse the two....you can check the sick plant guide for pix of cal def and P def so you know what to look for.

Good luck.
