Please everyone, Help me design this armoire

I attached some pics of it, its about 54" long, 22" deep and 7 foot tall. I have a 400 MH bulb with ballast, a 250 HPS with bulb and ballast and 4 26w veg lights and 2 46w(I think) for flowering, and hoods for the high powered ones, the 250w hps is actually air cooled hood I made(sorry no camera batteries at the moment). I wanting to set up something somewhat perpetual, every two to 4 weeks. I know how to make it light proof and to set up the drawers to open like a door, mainly looking for ideas on ventalation and cooling side, I have a/c in the room with the cabinet that stays around 66F. I already have 4 6" axal fans that move about 350 cfm each, some small pc fans that I can hook to a pc power supply and a bunch of 4" ducting too, trying not to spend to much on extras, oh and if I left anything out let me know, I was hoping to make something I can use for years to come:joint: Please come along with the help I want to get started on it now, thanks everyone

so not o9ne of those 35 people have a suggetion of where to run my exhaust or where to put the lights in my cab or even how many seperate parts to make? I want to cut an exhaust whole as I type but do not want to cut a whole somewhere where it doesnt need it...

I have a current cab with 8 plants about 2 ft tall that is hitting 90 in the last hour of lights on and I need to get this setup so I can switch them over, not to mention 2 OG kush's and a Blue hash I have vegging under some cfls in the middle of a room...oh and 3 autoflowers, 2 easy ryders and a pakistan ryder...

I am mainly needing to know if I could make the top right into a flower chamber with the 250W HPS and maybe the whole bottom with the 400W MH or should I just do flowering on the top right and leave the top left in two for vegging and another flower room with clfs..

Not sure why you would want more wattage on a MH bulb in your vegging area than in your flowering, doesn't make much sense. For that size, a 250w HPS is enough

Where you put your exhaust - well, there's not alot of point in having the vent in the front of the cab as it will then not look discrete, which kind of misses the point of converting a 'normal' looking item of furniture. And the heat rises, so you will want your vents top back left and top back right, no? if the room is AC at 66 degrees then extraction will not be a huge issue, you just need enough fan action to exchange the air. If you are concerned about smell, then you would need to put a carbon filter in and all that.

I'd put a 250w HPS in the upper left

And a bunch of smaller CFLs in the sections of the upper right - the shelves should do you well for a mother plant (one shelf) and cuttings/early veg (in the other shelf).

That would make a handy garden with low wattage and therefore not many problems with heat.

Frankly though, I would sell the armoire and build a purpose-designed cab

best of luck!

hey thanks for the reply, I just already have a 400w mh that I got with the 250 hps off craglist for $100...I was thinking all that too, I was just wondering if a 6" inline fan(I have 4 of these) that pushed 350cfm would be over kill for the top right side with the 250 hps in it(I am putting the ballast behind the box) and it is also air cooled but wasnt sure if I should pull air from outside the box for it or just suck air from the bot, over the light and out the main exaust, also was thinking about putting one on the top left side too but venting through the floor so it is one exaust for both the chambers and of course light proofing those. I have a bunch of little 4" computer fans as well that I could use I just do not want it to get to hot. Could I even use the 400W MH in this setup or should I just veg with cfls?..

was also thinking maybe I could use the whole that is already in the back of it for a passive intake with the 6" or should I go with a 4"?

6" fan not too big but may be noisy. If you can afford it, get a fan speed controller

here are this link posted by LordBudly, if you are stateside http://www.growlightexpress.com/inli...oller-526.html

running a big fan slowly and constantly is the best and quietist solution for ventilation.

Ideally you want to draw the air from outside the box and over the lamp

You could use the 400w MH but it is probably overkill. I'd just use the CFLs for a rig of this size. Will help keep your electricity bill low, return return on your investment

you can use a passsive intake for a cab of this size/a 250w HPS (especially if you dont use the MH, which will get quite hot) but you could also use one of your PC fans for this.

hey man that is a cool looking cab, 6" will be fine for a 250, I used a 4" on its lowest setting and it kept my box within 4 degrees of ambient with lights on.

Is smell going to be an issue? Will you be using a carbon filter?

If that was my box i would go this way

Top left side as a veg box, top right as your flower box.

Bottom half i would use as a drying box,

you should be able to use your 6" to vent the top two boxes and the light, then use some pc fans in drying box.

I would have fluros in your veg box using a passive intake, exhaust to your flower room, passive, as the negative pressure form the flower box will draw the air through, Or use a pc fan if its to warm, then Carbon filter > 6" fan > A/C hood > exhaust.

Use pc fans to move the air in both boxes

Check out theses links, the should give you a better idea

hey thanks guys, thanks for the input, I ended up throwing one of the 6" fans in the top right of the top right portion:)...anyways..I put a small cpu fan blowing air from inside the box over the light and ran the exhaust for that up next to the 6" exhaust fan, so I guess it is pulling a little from the top of the room and a little from the light..anyhow I have had it running since about 20 minutes after my last post and my ambient temp is 68 and the box is at 74, should that be good enough? I do need to add a carbon filter already but I was wanting to get it working first, so probably tomorrow after I finish the otherside today, do you think if I added a carbon filter the cab might just go up a few degrees because of the cut in circulation. I was thinking in the left side I could use the shelf in there and make it into two seperate cabs, one for mothers and the other for vegging, I know I could just use the whole thing for both but I was thinking since I do not want them that tall when I throw them into flower anyway that I could have more floor space for cuttings and stuff. I was thinking use the passive intake already biult in(like I did on the other side) and cut vent wholes in the shelf and mount another 6" fan at the top, basically traveling through both chambers then out the top, with clf's this should work right? Thanks for the replys guys I will be getting a pick of what I got going so far up pretty soon, I have a bunch of plants already going that I am wanting to post some of them because a the two OG Kushes I got have really fat fluffy leaves, anyone seen this?..sorry for rambling :joint:

All I see is a PERFECT NGB cab for a 250 in flower and spiral cfls in veg/mother/clone, that you can still keep your clothes in the drawers. With a large utility room for a nice fan/scrubber.
