plastic pots smell like asphalt tar...

I picked up some 3gal plastic pots because they were on sale, I noticed some of the 2gal pots were slightly melted, they have a strong smell of asphalt tar.

Is this ok? I really don't want asphalt tasting bud in an all organic grow.

Ah, fine oversees manufacturing. If it's the same smell I've had, a day or two out in the sun will evaporate it.

I scrubed em with dawn and hot water the smell went away some, Ill leave em outin the wind tonight If I can, I was planning on transplanting tonight but idk..

nothing strange

wash them good and leave them on sunny place to dry

plastics are best for growing because of the moisture free material

if you try to grow in ceramic it will keep the moisture and can cause roots rotting

so 3gal plastics sound fine , good luck with the grow

tip: make as much as you can holes at the bottom of it , like 3-5 holes on each corner , so the water will get out on same time when you water the plants and no moisture will stay @ bottom
more holes better roots = healthy plants
