Plants to tall

This has been my first grow so bare with me. My grow space is inside a tool cabinet with a 400watt CMH and side led lighting. Useing RDWC two 5 gallon buckets for two plants and a 5 gallon res. Honestly I didn't think the plants would live but they exploded in growth. One turned out to be a male so I chopped him but the other was a huge female. I flipped to 12/12 when she was about a foot tall, strain is menage a trois, thinking it would stop at about two feet buts shes gotten way to big and was starting to burn bad. This is all with my light now raised all the way to its limit. The stems are too thick this late to bend any more and the burn was getting bad. This morning two main colas were up under the hood touching the bulb so I had no choice but to cut the tops off. This is all like half a month in to 12/12. I am having trouble posting pictures something about having urls in my post? But the question is will I just loose those amazing top buds I cut off and will my other buds continue to grow in spite of the mutilation?

Sucks to outgrow your space, I hear ya there bro. To answer your question, Absolutely those other buds will keep growing. They will pack on extra weight with that top off. You may loose some yield overall but no biggie. I've seen growers take pruners to the canopy to level things out. The plant is so fucking vigorous, its rediculous.

I've also seen a technique that involves crushing but not severing the stalk. It allows you to bend the plant 90 degrees and then stake a bit for support. But after a couple days the plant continues to draw water/nutrients so no end loss besides for a day or two of recovery.

Good Luck!

supercrop :joint:
although it is a bit late, it seems you have no choice
pinch the stem flat about an inch or two, and lay the top right over
they will perk right back up in a day or two, and form a "knuckle" where they were bent
i used string to tie them this time because the tops will bend back up fast, and i wanted to keep them down longer

before

after

hope this helps :rasta:

Awesome thanks guys. I had heard somewhere that it would stunt the growth from that point on if I cut the tops but glad I was wrong and will still get some bud this grow.
