Plants are Sick... Pics will tell the rest

Plants are about 3-4 weeks old, topped 6 days ago, going into flower in 6 days.

I have a small thrip problem and I've just sprayed safer soap on them today, until dripping - on the tops and bottoms of leaves.

They are planted in //PER TEN GALLON MIX/::/ 1/3 EWC, 2/3 Pro Mix, 2 cups Bone Meal, 3 cups desert bat guano (8-?-?). No dlime or gypsum.

I water with deer park spring water which has a ph of about 6,... and teh pro mix is peat based, so I'm wondering if my soil ph is low.

I started them in pure pro mix and repotted with the stronger mix; I didn't want to burn my seedlings.

Here's a pic of my worst leaf out of 10 plants. I only compeltely lost one leaf out of ten plants, might have been on this plant or another - cant remember. Only about 2-3 plants look sick/ not perfect.

I think this is a thrip feeding trail... correct me if im wrong. Looks like he went along and chewed it up.

Hey GL, wassup. I'm pretty sure peat will make your mix a little on the acidic side. Why no dolomitic lime? It would have helped keep your ph stable. That last pic looks definately like them little fuggers thrips. I"ve been dealing with them bastards for a few months. Just when I think I've killed them all, :dueling: they come back! Ehh, guess I should be a little more dilligent with the spraying.

The promix already has lime added. The earthworm castings, however, probably needed the additional lime because they are acidic. You can test your ph using the link in my signature. Ph is good in soilless mix at 5.6 to 6.2 and soil mixes at 5.8 to 6.5. So, watering with 6 ph water should not be a problem. Depending on fertilizers mixed into the soil at planting is less than precise. Now your guessing as to what the plants are receiving.

you using tap water ,, if so what ppm is it? cause hard water has lost of cal,, and if your giving them too much ut wikk lock it out~

spring water with very little if any metals at all... 6.2 or 4 ph. basically RO but not as clean, and higher PH.

tap water here would be good but i'm not sure how plants react to ammonia...

chromaine is different then chlorine in that chlromaine is chorine molecules binded with ammonia, after 24 hours the chorline evaporates, leaving behind the ammonia.

so how would plants react to tap water with chloramine that sat 24 hours, I know it gave NASTY spikes in a fish tank if you changed like 25 percent of the water with chlroine-less water that sat.

plus the ph is in the blue range, like 7.0+ depending on what test kit u use.

you may spray with soapy water 3 times a day as long as you rinse your plants every now and then like every second or third day. i would get some neem oil as soon as possible or buy some predator bugs when you can!

plants need ammonia, and they get some fat stems from it too...
