Planting germed seeds outdoor without an indoor veg period

Hey guys, I'm sorry if there's an existing thread about this already but I couldn't find it.

I'm having doubts about how I should proceed with planting my seeds outdoor.
I've always grown indoor with the designated veg(24h light) and bloom(12/12 light) periods.
This time around I do not have access to a veg room/tent, but I am in a very sunny and hot location by the sea. Temperature is humid and the soil is rich.
What I am a bit unsure of, is how I should plant the seeds. Seeing that there is an average light cycle of 12/12 here all year around, would it be reasonable to plant the seeds straight into the designated soil after the seed has germed?
Won't the plants go into flowering stage immediately and thus give me short and light plants?

Thanks for your help

If you have an average light cycle of 12/12 you seedlings will go into flowering as soon as they are sexually mature.

Maybe you can add a lamp to turn on when the sun goes down.

I was just watching strain hunters on youtube, the jamaica edition, they were planting seedling outside and they were budding to about 18 inches - 2 feet mature in 8 weeks. seems similar to your situation

Yeah that's the "issue" in this location, because of the 12/12 average light cycle many plants become really small and don't achieve their potential state.
There is also a huge difference in size between indicas and sativas that are planted here. The indicas become sometimes just one-bud plants, whereas the sativas stretch much higher. Sativas are also known to grow upwards and grow branches etc 3 weeks into their flowering stage, so obviously they are a better choice.
I'm going to proceed and plant it anyways, thanks for your answers guys.

I am right close to the 12-12 equator as well, Snoogens, and have always planted my seeds straight into outdoor swamp tubes. Veg growth is typically over in a few short weeks here, and the buds of the local sativa strains are really tiny in comparison to the pictures of Sativa buds that I see posted in this website.

Still and all I much prefer toking on my puny little budlets than on anything bought on the street, since my grows are always 100 percent organic, with no chemicals of any description ever entering the equation, so I can be certain that I am not ingesting harmful insecticides and such.

Matter of fact, just three days after the official shortest day of the year, I headed to the swamp and planted out a few fist-fulls of seeds from my last harvest that had to be left unattended with male plants present, and I expect this lot to go to flower even before the plants are two feet tall. Hopefully I'll be able to keep a closer eye on the grow this time, and yank out all the males before they can shed any pollen.

I tried some indica seeds a few years back, and they all went into flower the instant the plants hit two inches tall, so definitely indicas are of no use to a strictly outdoor grower working in the tropics without the benefit of an indoor veg room with artificial lighting.

Thanks for your replies guys, and I think I've figured out a way. I'll simply put them inside during the night and keep them in a room that is lit with a few normal lights, it should be enough to prevent them to go to "sleep". It has worked for me before, so maybe I can stretch 3 weeks in veg with that method.

The garden lights that are solar charged is a really good idea though, I will definitely plan to use that for the next batch.

Peace out and happy holidays :smokeit:

maybe could put a flood light / outdoor light near back of your home . rather than take them inside .
