I got 2 strains vegging right now indoors, about 10 plants. I want to keep those as mothers and plant about 2 of each (4 total plants) outside. I would like them to get about 4-5 feet tall up untill harvest, how tall should they be when i stick them outside?

The strains are sunset sherbert & super glue.

I start them in late winter and veg until it warms up outside. The traditional day to plant gardens around here is Mother's Day. If you plant too early, the plants will get confused and flower first, but when the days are longer they will figure it out. I veg under 18 hours of HPS. If you veg for too many hours (more than 18) the plants will start flowering right away when you put them out.

A fun tool is: astro.unl.edu/.../animations/coordsmotion/daylighthoursexplorer.html
You need to enter in the latitude of the place you are growing, and also the calendar date and it shows the hours of daylight available outside. You should kind of match the hours of sunlight to the hours the light is on so they are not wildly different or the plant will flower right away. Of course I live near mountains and the elevation here makes a shorter growing season.
