Planning my first grow, need advice!

Hello everyone. Im planning on growing 2-3 plants in 3 gallon pots under 250w HID.

I already have my soil mix with 1/3 vermicompost, 1/3 peat moss and 1/3 perlite/vermiculite, only amendments I added were blood meal, bone meal, azomite, dolomite lime and humic acid and a local soil conditioner with myco and lactobacilus bacterias. Just mixed them yesterday and watered with compost tea using vermicast.

My question is this, what will be the ideal dimension of the grow box I should build to maximize space and yield? And any advice on what to add in my soil mix.

2' x 2' max...expect a canopy penetration of no greater than 15"...so keep that in mind when vegging and accounting for stretch.

You should add kelp meal...without question you NEED this. I'd also suggest you look into dry molasses...although, not mandatroy, it certainly helps. But then if you start going down the "it certainly helps" list...I can give you another 20 things that should (could) be in your soil mix...

Another one I'd say you really should add - is food grade diatomaceous earth - it'll provide silica.

But...welcome to the hobby! Good luck - and keep 'me green!!! Glad to see you starting out with an organic approach. Props!

Thanks! Finding organic amendments here in the Philippines is difficult, blood meal and bone meal are the only ones within my reach.

How much diatomaceous earth should I put per cubic foot of soil? Found a supplier thats selling 2$ per kilo.
