Planning First Grow

Hello IC'ers!

Ive been a lurker here for sometime and I've finally decided to commit to a small grow. I have a 1000W HPS setup for flowering, but I still need to get a light for vegging. I'm planning to do two neighboring chambers with a PVC frame wrapped with panda film, sharing one vent line to cool the lights, and and a second vent line for the scrubber. I plan to do the moonshine mix with FF soils. Im not sure how many plants yet, but I think the chambers are probably going to be 4ftx3ft. Height is to be decided, I could go upto about 8ft, and I think I will decide that based on if I go with Sativa or Indica.

Why I'm posting this is to get some feedback before I select my strains. I'm torn over whether to go with pure sativa, pure indica, or a hybrid plant. I prefer the high of the sativa, but the indica seems to be the "easier" one to grow, being a first timer and all, what are your opinions? Recommended strains? Gonna order from Herbies. I want something that is sort of an energetic high, not really something that's gonna put me on my ass. lol. I could do some of each, but then I'm worried about trying to get an even canopy so.... (If this is in the wrong sub-forum, I apologize.)

If you don't plan on having both chambers up and running at the same time then the 1000 watt HPS would do fine for veg too. If not you can grab a MH for veg. If you have the money look into a LED though. They will run you a lot cooler and help with stretch. How do you plan on keeping the 1000 watt HPS flowering chamber cool? That bitch is going to get super hot. Haha. Sounds like you got an awesome line up on the beans though man!! To answer your question in the first post regarding whether or not to go with sats, indi's, hybrids, etc, you definitely want to keep it uniform so your canopy stays even unless you plan on doing some LST'ing or super cropping. It will be a bitch having Indica doms next to Sativa doms in the same space unless you plan on getting some side lighting to put by the Sativa doms. Side lighting will definitely help with your yield though. Even a few CFL's on photography lighting stands or hanging bare bulb style would help with keeping your undergrowth from being all fluffy and larfy.
