Ive been looking into the sealed room concept, and it's got curious to the point that i must try it. So I going to remodel my room by sealing it and adding a mini-split ac and growzilla hoods. (Ill be using the new ones with 6" vents) My space is 8' x 10' ill be using an 8'x'8' of that for growing in. There will be four hoods spaced even thoughout the 8'x8' area each with 2 600w agrosun bulbs giving me 75w psf. i will set up two duct lines for cooling, each line will have a Can-Fan 8 HO (8" cfm 737) pulling air from outside through two reflectors and back outside. (the runs will be for the most part straight and i figure about a 10' long including reflectors) Next an mini-split ac i figure i only need an 18,000 btu but the 24,000 is only a bit more so ill probably go with that. A burner and sentinel cppm-1 will add co2. im still researching a carbon filter so any thoughts on that are helpful
and some questions for my fellow ic'ers
1. do you think the can-fan is big enough? i used the CFM=watts/4 and then added some for bends and because extra flow is better
2. should i go with 6" or 8" duct and why? i read in a thread about this but i cant find it now, but theres a mathamatical way to figure out which is better. all thoughts are welcome
3. any recomendations on a well built 18000 btu ac
4. can a split ac be installed in a basement, the wire, drain hose etc would have to be piped up about 12" and outside between the floor joist. maybe i could mount to the ceiling and 90 out the back of ac then straight out through the floor joist
Looking for answers to these ?s and any constructive thoughts
i have two 8" inline fans rated at 500 cfm that i will add to the reflectors as well if needed. after looking at this http://www.icmag.com/ic/showthread.php?t=95259 i just might really need these, have to see when its set up as people seem to be getting away with much less
