I've always used Plagron's Grow Mix soil for the entire grow. They are lightly pre-fertilized for the first 3 weeks. But since I've noticed that hungry strains turn yellow early in this soil, I looked for alternatives so I bought the Plagron Bio Batmix.
Now I realized that the manual for Batmix says:
Do not fertilize the first 6 weeks.
And the pH of this soil is higher 6.5 - 7.5, as opposed to the Grow Mix pH 5.9-6.9.
I'm not sure if it works well to veg the seedlings for the first 4 weeks in the Grow Mix first and then to transplant the plants to a pot twice its size filled with Batmix? Will the plants benefit from a mix of two soils to somehow find a compromise?
Shortly after that final transplant I will switch to 12/12. Since I won't be able to use a lot of Bloom Nutes and Boosters due to the strong soil, won't the yield suffer?
