Would a dehumidifier be more efficient if it was on placed on a shelf off the floor? I'm considering it just to get it out of the way & save floor space.
I'm assuming the most humid air would be heavy & settle along the floor.
So it may be best to leave it on the floor. Thanks!
In my experience, keep it on the floor, it will help re-circulate co2 went lites are on and rid the room at plant level first most al your humidity. The humidity doesn't necessarily settle as it is temp driven too.
Floor is the best place, and unless you grow in a palace it makes little difference where in the room you place it,I've had it in different areas with identical results
I have mine mounted on a shelf at the top of the room. My humidity sensor is at canopy level. I haven't really noticed any difference it still drops the hum, at plant level... I have noticed though, it seems a lot cooler with the heat up top...
If you've got adequate ventilation in your setup, it really doesn't matter where it's at. I put mine on a shelf so that the runoff will drain into my res and top it off. It's great not having to add water for 2 weeks
I was surprised how much water the unit removes. The container is nearly full after just one night. I will mount it off the floor high anough to drain into a 5gl bucket.
