Pink Malawi/Ma Petit

Hey all...
I don't have the words to say how sorry I have been for being such a stranger to these familiar shores...All I can say is that my life is going through huge transformations. Big time. Most of them good. All the transformational changes, however, mean that my time is spent in multi-dimensional, logistical tumult and I have little energy left for full participation on this, my favorite, forum. Oh well!! Believe me, it's all good and to some degree, miraculous. My son, for instance, is doing extremely well. His brain tumor seems to be non-existent - given that it is inoperable and that his prognosis had him checking out in late 2014, one can only credit the combined elements of chemo, radiation, and cannabis (and-who knows- some other special ingredient). Whatever -for this our gratitude is boundless.

But that's only one front. My state has recently gone recreational. If all is well, there is a good likelihood that I will be a participant in a medical dispensary and hopesully (depending upon the new administration) a recreational outlet. If so, I will do my best to ensure that Ace is featured big time.

For the nonce - I have started these two Pink Malawi/Ma Petit seeds. I have little knowledge of what they will be like - if they are like regular Malawi, I will be in heaven and if they have -as dubi suspects- high CBD, I will also be in heaven...albeit even more mellow. Don't know if any has also brought these beauties forward...They are young yet but showing a myriad of flower nodes going all the way down branches - something I have seen with the standard Malawi. One pheno is very branchy, gangly, etc. The other seems to be more compact with a tenency to branch but not resembling the first pheno. They were placed under 12/12 on November 4 and I took these pictures about a week and a 1/2 ago. (See! Too busy!!!!). So that was then...I will try to get some pictures soon as they have significantly started flowering out this juncture and have stretched considerably in the passage of time since these photos.

Anyhow...all to all my known and new friends and a great big grin for dubi!

Here's the gangly one...she has grown to the extent that she is on the floor and no longer on the bucket. Hopefully, she will calm down soon or she will be reaching too close to the artificial sun.

And this is the more compact one. It was weird...something funky happened that affected only the very top node when it was a plantling. The topmost node of the meristem basically died off but the rest of the plant thrived. I have no idea. At any rate, it form this bush...The stretch seems much less exuberant and the branches are much more compact. There are a lot of little stemlings toward the bottom that I will most likely clear away but the budding seems earlier and more puffball than her sister's.

I know little about this specific strain. Perhaps dubi...if he's back from his hiatus...or someone else can pitch in. I love forging off into the unknown!! Until later...enjoy!!

Welcome back mayan! Im glad that ganja&docs helped your son, also good news for other patients, my friend had one 10 years ago and he is still recovering from that shit...
Ace/Cbg in dispensary-sounds great! If that happens, I will once visit usa, if not fuck it ;)

@mayan - that is wonderful news about your son, really good to hear.
Getting a foot in at a dispensary sounds cool as too :)
One thing though when you said "For the nonce" - that means something completely different in England - a nonce is a sex offender, usually a paedo - does it mean something different in the US?

From Wiktionary
Adverb Edit
for the nonce

(idiomatic) For the time being, with the expectation that the situation may change.
That will do for the nonce, but we'll need a better answer for the long term.
1922, James Joyce, Ulysses, Episode 16
For the nonce he was rather nonplussed but inasmuch as the duty plainly devolved upon him to take some measures on the subject he pondered suitable ways and means during which Stephen repeatedly yawned.

Definitely different than the slang meaning

Hi Mayan :)

Always a pleasure to see you around posting.
Excellent news :huggg: I'm glad your son is fully recovering!

Best wishes also with the launch of the new dispensary, hopefully the government approves your license.

Regarding the Pink Malawi x Mapetit, it's a cross that a friend (Mr Bogavant, a very talented grower and breeder) did using a rare pink pistiled Malawi (very potent too) and his Mapetit rich CBD parental plant. He is especialized on tasty CBD crosses, and he gave me some of this seeds to give away for testing, especially for those in need of CBD rich plants. It will be interesting to see the outcome of your 2 plants, hopefully you can find nice, powerful and CBD rich plants.

Hello Mayan, I'm very happy to hear about your son. I'm very interested in these two plants you are growing. What type of lights are you using and what flowering cycle? Feel free to PM me with any other information on techniques being used. Peace
Continued prayers for your son.

My good friends...Thanks so much for your comments and warm thoughts! And special tip o' the hat to dubi!

So I took the plants for a stroll today. A picture says a 1000 words...the gangly one has gangled on out (hopefully she will stop gangling soon). She has a decidedly, yo way sativa disposition. I haven't really played with their scents yet. But I love the way she looks. Like, really, really love her! I put her (and her sister) under 12/12 on November 4, so she's about 34 days in.

The logistical skinny (for farmer lion - feel free to ask away, my friends - here to share): 1000 watt light in a very tiny room in an undisclosed bunker...I grow her in 3 gallon smart pots...coir and Botanicare products for the most part. The room is 5 x 7' about and the light -unfortunately- is about 6 feet above sea level.

...And here's the sister. Much more demure growth in terms of the gangle factor - more compact, I would say and the budding pattern is completely different. Placed under 12/12 at the same time as the other. I think she's pretty well near done stretching - wish I could say the same about the first one. Whatever - they are beautiful. This pheno is definitely vociferously leafy!

So...enjoy!!! Till later!

Wow, Mayan, you're going to get a really nice sampling of the strain with those completely different expressions. Very healthy and promising; how high do you go on nutes with this strain? The squat one is similar in structure to a panama I have in 3 gal botanicare Slacker, a pretty stocked coco mix, but you've got better color, less N. Great thread, thanks!

So happy for good outcomes.

My Mom also had run in with cancer, which was successfully removed this summer. Also my Mother in Law.
Nice to hear a few good cancer recovery stories. As horrible as it was, I learned much about my wife, myself and my Dad and life goes on.

Positive is the way to go!

With out doubt, growing weed has been a helpful diversion for my
mind. Doubt I have to explain that any further here.

Ma Petite x Pink Malawi - Pheno 1

Ma Petite x Pink Malawi - Pheno 1

Hey all _ Well happy 2017 to you all. That was then...this is now. As you can see, this incredible beauty has really come into her own. As you will soon see, this pheno appears very different than the second plant (see below). She's about 58 days of 12/12 and is packing it on - although the pistils are getting brown there's still a lot of white ones being pushed out. So far, her scents are those of bubble gum and berry...fruity...maybe with some strange funk as an undertone.

Enjoy!!!!

Further on Down the Road With Pheno 2 - Ma Petit_Pink Malawi

Further on Down the Road With Pheno 2 - Ma Petit_Pink Malawi

So...Ma Petit/Pink Malawi 2 is a different kinda gal than her much taller sister. Less branchy. Buds more indica...rock hard. Maybe, just maybe, she's maturing somewhat quicker...they were both placed under 12/12 on November 4. She does share very similar scent. As you can see, she is -um- quite photogenic...I couldn't stop snapping photos. I'm gonna be gone until January 13...by the time I return, she might be about 70 days...We will see what she looks like then but her time might be drawing nigh.

Enjoy!!

Mayan, Happy New Years brother!!! First off I hope everything is still well with your son. (continued prayers). One of my family members blood tests came back negative 6 months after removal of lung lobe. I was also blessed with great kindness from Dubi. I look forward to sharing his gift with many others as we work on MMJ implementation here in North Dakota. Beautiful plants, Waiting for harvest and cured smoke reports. Peace
