Pink Ducksfoot Autoflower..................?

R

Hello ic-ers,

I was/ am trying to make a pink ducksfoot autoflower.

I selected one pink autoflower female and pollinated it with pollen from 3 ducksfoot autoflower males.

I have sprouted about 20 of those seeds but it looks like none of them have the ducksfoot trait.

So, i wonder if anyone would have any advice how to continue with my experiment?

Should i find the best pink female from these 20 plants (that don't have the ducksfoot trait) and pollinate it with some of the original pollen i used to make these seeds, and see if it appears in those seeds?

Or should i look through the rest of the first seeds i made (~100) to find a pink ducksfoot and then pollinate her with the original pollen?

Thanks for any help. :thank you:

The pink female i used wasn't a ducksfoot but the 3 males were, i am trying to get the pink trait and ducksfoot trait into the one plant, and was unsure which way would be the best way to get it to happen?

Thanks again.

I think i'll keep any pink females from these 20 seeds and pollinate them with the original ducksfoot pollen and then sprout the rest of the seeds i have from the first cross to see if i find any with the ducksfoot trait.

they are in the second generation ...
there will be a % of quackers in that lot ,
cant guarantee any pink ones though, you may have to grow quite a few and keep looking..
it may not be as easy to nail down both traits as you may have thought in the beginning but should be some fun and learning during the process ...

The ducksfoot trait is recessive if memory serves me correct so go to f2 or back-cross f1 to the original auto duck you have.

Thanks for the replies. :)

These are Pink Duckfoot AUTOFLOWERS.

The mother and fathers were all 100% autoflower.

Make f2s by pollinating any pink plants with multiple males. Those seeds will have 1/4 webbed plants. Make f3s with only the webbed males and females to lock down the webbed trait and then hunt through those for pink coloration.

You could back cross to the auto ducks and get a higher ratio of webbed plants but it may make it more difficult to find pink buds if the trait is recessive. Having said that I did get a lot of purple from PCK to carry over into the next generation by using first generation Ducksfoot x PCK pollen on some pure Ducksfoot. Then I grew those seeds and used only the webbed plants to in cross. That have me all webbed plants, about 2/3 being purple.

Thanks Otto.

The pink auto i used as the mother to create the first seeds was very common, ~75% were pink.
