i wanted to get the vortex 6" but meh the 4 works for my aplication and the ducting will fit on a pyrex cool tube nicely if i ever want to upgrade 2x 430 hps 1 4" posibly 6" off ebay

damn, I wanted to see the crow......:badday:

seriously, the advantage of the 6" vortex and 6" duct is when you speed control it, it will still pull as much as a 4" at 3/4 speed, with less noise. Bigger fan + slower running = more effective ventilation and less noise. Your rig will still be good, however, don't stress!

Looks real nice good luck to you!

200$ and i think im goin to get that 6" vortex later on the fan noise is not a problem right now and my temps are perfect 80.05 camopy and 84 exhaust just won the bid on 2 pyrex tubes for 5$ so might rig one of thos up in the next week or 2 (well see )

Great point! But don't be down green! If you end up needing the 6", you'll still have this 4" and trust me. Keep everything you get. You never know when you'll need what. I had to learn that the hard way :)

lol i allready thought about what the 4" could be used for later on active input for any thing from cooltubes to the room or even exhaust for a veg room in the future

excellent advice WeeD!

The theory is that it is better to have an oversize fan working at 3/4 capacity, it's "comfort zone", than a smaller fan running 100%. The fan will last longer as well. This is a good way to quiet your computer if it sounds like a leafblower. Large 120mm (i think) fans. They are quieter than standard 80mm.

This applies to audio amplifiers, as well. It's best to have an amp too strong for your speakers and, because you are not a boob and know what you are doing, you never run that amp at more than 75% max, thus never blowing your speakers. This way the amp always has plenty of power in reserve to handle big music spikes, heavy bass and to control your speaker cones, literally pushing them out and magnetically "braking" them to produce tight accurate sound reproduction, especially low end/bass/sub bass. When you hear speaker distortion it is almost always because the amp is underpowered, and that amp is distorting, not the speaker. Shitty car stereos do this a lot. The usual result of too much amp power to the speakers is called "over excursion", which means the speaker cone pushed too far out and the magnetic coil came out of it's "coil gap", and didn't return = Speaker physically broken.

well I ramble, take it easy. :D

20-30% is a bit low  Normally I like to aim for 60-70% in veg and 30-40% in flower. You'll have to be extra careful to make sure you don't dry out your young plants. Older plants will be more tolerant of lower humidities, but they'll drink more water due to the increased transpiration.

I run a 600W cooltube in my Budbox XL 1.2M x 1.2M x 2M, and regularly hit 85f (my ambient room temp is 67). I think it might be a bit too hot for your situation, but with really good ventilation I don't think it would be impossible.

We can always use more power amp...:sasmokin:

Yah definitely air cooled hood is a must. If you can, get a proper square hood with glass, like a daystar or something, the cooltubes are not very good for light dispersion. I have one cause that's all I could fit until I build a custom config hood for my space. There is a good thread somewhere doing light testing of the different hoods and one or two really stand out from the rest.

GF, careful with the active input. If it is not balanced with the output, and it probably won't be, then there will be flow problems. One will most likely suck or blow harder than the other, putting strain and stress on both fans. If you need better ventilation, better to upsize ducts and fan. Remember, if you downsize anywhere in the system you are negating the larger pipe throughout. It becomes a bottleneck. You can Y two 4" together to effectively make it 8", if you need to connect a 4" part (2 x 4" filters for example) Better to use the 6" for the room and 4" for sealed cooling for your lights. Then you can direct the hot, odour free air into another space for free heat, as long as the input air is outside the garden and odour free. If you pipe it into the output ducts of your furnace, with a backflow damper, then it will send heat through your place all winter. Downside is it will heat in summer, too. Just an idea...

Nice Setup.

I have built a few different styles. What strains are we going to be growing in that new home?

I'm currently growing under a 430w Son Agro Lamp. I'm looking to get rid of some of my hydro stuff If your looking hit me up.

I also have a unused carbon filter that will fit that 4" vortex if your interested
