Hello there,
I'm just starting three main plants from fem seeds(Panama x Malawi, PCKgreen x Panama, Shackzilla) and I want to make some seeds for eventual future selections.

You can help me pick ONE, vote on which variety would you find most interesting(and why?), also option "other" - write your pick, maybe I have some seeds hidden somewhere :)
One of "Other" options I forgot to add is Bangi Gold - LaBuenaHierba.

This poll will be active until tomorrow afternoon when I'll soak a few seeds.

Thanks for your time,
cheers!

Thou the"landraces" would be the coolest, the chance of finding shitty phenos and higher possibility of intersex traits puts a question mark on these.
But if you have good amount of seeds to shift thru and you're willing to put in extra effort, then go for it.
If you don't have too many seeds at hand, then i personally would go with Sinai, but i have never grown any of the strains you have.

IIRC, there's some hermi traits in Kumaoni, but i'm not sure if i remember that right. You can find Kumaoni grows here by members. I have grown Baglung Nepalis from Himalaya and the phenos were quite far apart from each other, and think i remember that Kumaoni was also a "jungli" line, meaning growing in the wild.
Sinai is likely related to hashish cultivcars so it can be abit more inbred/stable, thou i'm sure there can also be shitty phenos in the mix.

If the project is somewhat important to you, then i'd go for some more familiar western hybrids, the SSH or one of the C99 hybrids, but i don't like SSH that much myself.

I'd pick OGxC99 if you want some relaxing effect in the mix, i bet these have great calyx-to-leaf ratio as well. Seedsman HazexC99 if you want more sativa. Cannacopia seem to have good stuff in their seeds.

Good luck with the project.

I would find a SSSDH male. From Connoisseur Genetics. Ive grown a few things with it in and it seems to add incredible calyx size, sparse structure, :"fists" of buds and few leaves leaf but lots of resin. 90s haze, cookies haze both loo so SSSDH but different taste from elite clone females. Its 10 plus so good to go with almost anything.I recon that why OJD does :)

Honestly, popping beans is like the lotto. You can't pick which one is a winner. It might be inline with 'odds' and might not.

Suppose it matters what traits you'd like. A winner may have those or simply be outstanding. Lot's of breeds get chosen by too few traits. Like resin, yield and terps, if that for males.

I'm sure we'd all love huge plant counts to be extra choosy!

Thanks for the suggestions, this is not a too serious project so forget big numbers and keep in mind it's simple pollen chucking :)
I'm also leaning a bit towards OG x C99 but also others would be very interesting to me especially the hazeC99.
Spaventa, where could I get some of ojd's beans? It's a bit late to buy some for this run but the SSSDH always sounds great in the mix, maybe for the next one.

Cheers

I have to vote for the Haze x c99. How can you miss with that as a father plant?

Second would have been Sinai, I have only read some about it but it seems more indica, which would go nice with your sativa mom's.

As far as OG, there are enough of those hybrids out there.

Give the man a pm, he may have some advise on the breeding too.

I would thing about crossing his SSSDH with something exotic smelling/tasting that the SSSDH would speed up, shorten and tighten up. Ace have breeders pack of special selections for just this purpose.
Dubi is very helpful and knowledgeable so shoot him a pm too maybe.

It all depends on what are you looking for. Production? Strength? Sativa effect? Fast flowering? You have to aim according with what are you seeking. It has no sense to just mix anything, you could get seeds having the worse characteristics of their parents, like a hybrid stone, a long flowering and a vulgar taste.

Good luck!

Cheers

Carraxe you're right,
my main goal would be to make some seeds with parents which enhance each other's characteristics, so if there are some general traits I like about the mothers(for example panama is a variety I generally enjoy quite much, Jack also), so the question is which general traits from possible dads are more suitable for the enhancing of panama's lemony character(if moms will be panama dominant for example) with some other qualities.
I feel Haze and C99 are two general varieties I would prefer over OG or Bubba, but those two have the nice short flower time which would make the progeny more suitable for outdoors at my latitudes, another example.
Thinking again, I'd mainly focus on indoor adaptability also, because it offers much more satisfaction than outdoor guerrilla.
At this moment I'm inclined to Haze x C99 and Zamalmystik but Haze99 being in first place.

Cheers

Well in the end the popular vote won :)
Just put to soak four SSH F2 seeds I got from a friend's reproduction of Mr Nice SSH seeds. Tests from last year showed great seed viability and uniformity, some NL/Haze dominance, lack of skunk in the mix which is great for my taste. Let's wait and see.

Thanks for all your votes, made my choice easier in the end.
The other varieties will have to wait a bit more.

Cheers and happy may 1st!
