picked up some bud that i think was sprayed with something

Does it feel sandy to the touch/if you bite it?
It might have been coated with mirror particles etc and then sprayed with scented hairspray to look as if it were better quality.

Some buds might smell a bit chemically if they were not flushed well. As for stinking, the buds I grow smell up the entire house for awhile after the jar is sealed.
I can't think of a reason anyone would spray herb with anything...... It might just be buds that were not dried fully

no, Goodstuff, its definitely dank, but some ass must have sprayed it with something to try and impress noobs w/ the berry smell...

I dunno then - I wouldn't smoke it. If you got it from someone you know then ask them about it. Maybe there's a good explanation for it.

Easy solution: Offer a friend of yours a free bowl of it.
If they don't get sick and/or die, it's totally cool for you to smoke it.

AFAIK the primary reason for spraying bud with anything is to inflate its value in one of three areas: look (fake trich's as others have already mentioned), smell (also already mentioned), and IMO the most important -- weight (spraying it with something to keep it damp and wet will make it weigh more, so they can charge a higher price).

a very strong berry smell that takes up the room???? wanna' send me a sample and i'll ya' know. maybe you just got some real good bud thats wasn't died completely.

I've grown, smoked, seen and above all smelled buds that if I didn't know any better would have been sure, were sprayed with somthing....but, sometimes really good herb stinks to hell and back like nothing else in nature. I had a lemon skunk clone some years back that smelled just like lemon pledge.
all sorts of different aromas come from dope, in differing degrees iof pungency.... stickyness doent denote having something sprayed on it.... odours ion plants are made up ofr millions of different chemicals, that occur in multitudes of combinations and all sorts of extremee smells can be found.... the freshness will explain the smell being strong-it always stinks more wet than dry.... unless the stickyness is like honeydew type residue and you can hear the weed fizzing or it wont burn properly to a nice white ash and leaves hard black crap behind i wouldnt sweat it.....

Yeah, Sounds like Tasty Puff. I tried it out. It sucks. Will make your first rip taste like S~~T, and then it goes down hill from there. Wont kill you to smoke a little but I would for sure punch your dealer in the face.
