Phresh Carbon Filters

Hydro store near me just got these in what do you guys think about them? I was stunned at their size and weight! I was wondering if they last as long etc...These are only 15 LBS for 4"X8" filter vs my ECOPLUS which I am guessing is 30-45 pounds and 14 inches high, 12 inch diameter. Both are 4" flanges

These are the old Phat filters. Mine is super effective with a 8" Vortex sitting on top of it.

I just bought one aswell didnt know what the guy was trying to tell me at the store but its a third the size as the compairable can fan filter and at the same price out the door i opted to carry out the small one , i was just being lazy and i hope it works , ive been to lazy to take it out of the box.
its good to pre-flower for the first twenty days without the filter to help keep more air moving and temps down to help cut out on strectch from heat.

I've got a Phresh filter, which is unfortunately too big for my tent, so it is holding me up from putting plants into flower, which sucks.

I'm going to replace it with the smaller 6" version this week. I guess I don't have anything to compare it too, because it seemed big and heavy to me, lol.

hey is there anyway to refill these storebought filters? i think i have a can filter too...forgot what brand.

i know that these dont have an opening to empty/refil the carbon but i was wondering if anyone had just taken a dremel or something and cut the endcap off to empty and refil. then maybe you could just find away to secure the cap again? i dunno im gonna have to try or else im just going to make a homade one. those can filters are too expensive.

Interesting thought. No reason not to try, once it needs to be replaced.

some of the older models of filters it ssems wee easy to re fill and i bought a bag a coal pellets for the refill and made my own out of steal mesh ,panty hose, 2 end caps, and a reducer. It worder for a couple years but when it came time to get a new filter i didnt want to have to rip the home made one apart , that and the price of a good filter is way cheaper in the last few years.

Just wanted to say thanks everyone for feedback I will be using these to replace my oversized and overweight filters now
