This here is a thread about bands that really really yank yer crank, but are probably totally unknown to most folks.

The point of the thread is to inform others about tunes they may really dig, but prob don't know about.

My initial three I will post are the ones in the title....

Phreakscene was a collaboration put together by Rusty Evans in 1967, one year after he did "Psychedelic Moods of the Deep Vol I". Totally trippy and uber-weird, it is some of the ultimate acid music. You can tell by listening that everyone involved in making this album from the musicians to the engineers behind the board to the guy getting the coffee were dosed to the eyeballs 24/7.

The Devil's Anvil is a stupendously cool electro-arab-funk band from New York with Felix Pappalardi from Mountain on bass, and is available on the same CD as the Phreakscene album. Both are online to listen to here: http://www.amazon.com/Psychedelic-Psoul-Hard-Rock-Middle/dp/B000009CD6

Perth County Conspiracy was (is occasionally still is) a band from Ontario that was originally founded by members of a commune near Stratford. Super cool hippy-folk music, great to chill by, great lyrics. There is a couple of Youtube clips with their songs online, and their stuff is available on torrents as well.

Enjoy and be sure to post yer fave obscure bands and music!

Fantomas is pretty weird.

And Mr.Bungle too. Both are mike Patton projects, Mr. Bungle being more song bassed and Fantomas being fucking strange.
