Here is what I built to turn this door/window with an electric rolling shutter into ventilation outputs. I came up with this. I use the same idea as some Portable AC Window Kits.
The idea is to use the electric shutter to keep the setup tight. It works great. When the shutter is closed, everything is air tight and light proof. From the outside it is very discret and barely noticeable.
What you need to build this :
- 3 x Wooden boards
- Wooden battens
- Screws
- Ventilation outputs (the size of your choice)
- Black paint for wood
The board's width has to be the shutter's width. Then I made some kind of 'board sandwich'.
I have to give props to this thread : https://www.icmag.com/ic/showthread.php?t=284573 and to this link : http://bit.ly/29314lx.
This third board keeps all the vent outputs out of sight. I guess I sarcifice a little bit of airflow.
The shutter goes right into this edge.
