I finally found the source of the bug in the photo gallery that would screw up the display of thumbnails if there were less than 4 pictures to show. It was hanging up the browser forcing users to close & restart their browser (not just the window).
So now it shouldn't be a problem. Let me know if you still have problems displaying your gallery or anyone else's.
