Nice! Yeah that's my problem, older seeds and the shells are like army helmetsI just popped some old TGA sub sent me years ago.
Deep purple
Joshua tree.
Querkle unfortunately won’t pop for me , they are well over 12 years old.
I’m definitely here to see what she brings!
How do you sex the seedling plants? Do they just naturally show after an amount of time, or is it flowering then they Reveg once you see? Just curious because I am starting a ton of seeds and it been a few years, last time I grew I just flowered the plants 12/12 from seed and discarded the males but kept full speed ahead with the flowering ladies, but I would like to be able to see what sex a plant is but still be able to keep it vegging, so I can cut the males out without having to waste space and resources on themI think the temps maybe dipped too low these past few days in New york and a few seeds are either lagging or aren't going to germinate. I think 2-3 of the king pakal will, none of the "Bogota breeze" and 1 "Grape Enferno" appear to be coming up. Almost all the querkle did, "funky cold medina appears" to be the most cold resistant in the bunch(indica influence?) And about 50% of the zest OG did. And they already look male(stretchy) which is nice. I'm transplanting everything Into soil today, about a week away from their next transplant, probably a month from sexing and 6 weeks until first testers are flowered. In comparison to the Ace Seeds -Purple Zamal x A5 Haze germing next to it, which is now 85%+ above ground and my own seeds at 75%, I think maybe some of the seeds are older stock, and showing less vigor.
Okay, good to see this is normal! LOLI have a few Panama Boquete Up and transferred, The "funky cold Medina" has 1 mutant, nice growth, hood vigor, the sativas are much less cold tolerant.
7/8 querkle successfully germinated and are in soil, one is a seedling with intense grape smells, I hope it's a male.
The King Pakal were unsuccessful, or were not compatible with my grow area.
Same for the grape enferno, maybe 1 survived, and the Bogota Breeze, I think the temp fluctuations in my new grow area made the seeds more susceptible.
2 'Zest OG' survived, stretchy.
I added 8 seedlings of Norstar's "Banana Faction" which is a banana og f2 bred to a sour diesel hybrid. I expect great potency on this one.
I Added 5 'Peace Train'(Mendo purple haze x Jack The Ripper) Bred by Norstar seeds for TGA Subcool seeds. Now unavailable as it was discontinued, I will be making seeds using the best representation I can find, hopefully I can find a male in this 5 plants.
About a five to six weeks before flowering outdoors.
Those are pretty flowers friend. DamnPanama Boqueté #2, hybrid pheno - I believe this plant may require another two weeks before the seeds are matured. View attachment 19074940

More sativa influence showing towards harvest. They're plentiful, and thus far the pheno has remained stable.
Those are pretty flowers friend. Damn
I believe most plants show their sex by week 6, some later. You will know a female is a female by the hairs it produces vs balls.Okay, good to see this is normal! LOL
I usually see guys pop a 5 pack of fems or like a single seed and maybe the freebie it came with, but I have so many varieties I want to pick through and try, and my seeds are older so I have been over here trying to like crazy to get any technique to make them crack and once I figured it out they all started cracking
I put 23 in solo cups last night, still have the others in paper towels and I was feeling like maybe I should slow down hahaha... But my stoner side of me is like whispering "Just pop some of those and a couple of these, maybe a couple more of those..."
I realized the shell on the older seeds is harder so I found if I keep them in the paper towel longer than normal it seems to work, but the problem is mold or bacteria wants to grow on em before they sprout or right when they sprout and it kills them back, so I had been swirling them around in hydrogen peroxide every morning then rinsing with water and into a new clean paper towel and that seems to help
