Well I've finally got my new flower chambers up. For now I'm doing soil SOG with FFOF and coco, pure blend pro nutes. I am still new at this but my roommate has been doing dirt for 4 years now. We're 100% open to advice and constructive criticism so please share if you have helpful thoughts!
Likely issues/design flaws: gnats, mites, temps are a little high (79-81 day, 72-78 night,) but a window AC would be sketchy and expensive for us; we've been getting ok yields at these temps last summers. Only passive intakes as of right now, and this run we didn't have the optimal # of clones/small containers. Also we just noticed we're getting some moldy soil, I think this is because we had em vegging without much airflow and maybe overwatering a bit.

The setup:

4x4 DR120 tent w/1000 watts with 11 big plants (1 ft. to 28 inches)
-AK47 (Biggest girl)
-powerhouse (seed)
-White Widow
-Amethyst
-Bubble Gum
-Big bud (nirvana)
-Hindu Skunk
-Shiva Skunk
-TrainwreckXMango
-D-line (Chocolope)

And a 5x5 DR150 with 1200 (2x600) watts with 80 small plants (~4-6 inches,) and 4-5 medium plants (~8-12 inches.)

I've got the same strains in there +

-Powerhouse
-Big Bud

On deck I've got:

-Sensi Star
-Grapefruit Diesel

Great setup man, i have 4x4 to... now are all your plants in the 4x4 in perfect pots or are some and others in smaller pots.... wondering because , at max, i can only fit 9 perfect pots in there comfortably... Great work and im tuned in now to check out your work....

As you can see the canopy is rather uneven! I'm probably going to raise the left side on crates and train that bigass girl in the back.

This is the first run I've done in the 5x5, first sog too, so all of this is on the fly.
Only one of the big ones in the tree room is trained, we're experimenting with a bunch of strains right now so we want to see which gives us the most without training. There are a few in the sog that got big enough to overshadow the bunch of small clones we had, so we're training those too (mango, purps, annunaki.)

and how long do you veg before flowering?

Everything is different right now; In the future I plan on having 164 rooted clones (or switching to ebb n flow, not sure on numbers there,) and vegging them 5 days after rooting before I flip. Ideally I would have 164 clones 7-8' tall but I don't have that many yet (working on that..)

Thanks Phish, she's the best smelling bud I've ever laid my nose on (though I've only had 2 grows,) she's definitely my favorite so far.

Got everything raised up on crates but it's still not 100% even obviously...I'm going to LST a few bigger ones still like that tall purps in the middle. I've got dark spots in the corners though, I'm not sure whether to raise the lights and get more light to the corners but have them be further away from everything. I wish I could do a goddamn room with 4k already instead of these tents.

Here's the sog at day 20 or so of flower... got crates but some stretched a lot so the canopy is still uneven... keeping lights at around 18 inches above the lower ones.


*edit* btw, is there an atom bomb for fungus gnats I can use up to week 4 of flower? I've tried everything- neem, gnatrol, sm-90, traps, still have them all over the fuckin place. Suggestions?

Day 28 or so in the 4x4:


2 of my girlies (seeds from hermies,) hermied out on me so I had to kill them.

Also I'm dealing with powdery mildew for the first time, rh is ~55%, I guess the airflow was bad in the corners... it was just on some leaves I think I'm lucky I caught it early... sprayed with some sm-90 cut out the bad areas and put a big under the canopy. Hopefully it will get better.

fighting powdery mildew... Ak47 and bg seem the most susceptible. Too bad, they're fat even in 80-85 temps we're having here.

Amethyst is now choppable at 45 days... She seems to be our star strain in this room, she's dank, finishes fast, yields moderately and is mold resistant. Going to keep her and the white widow out of this room for future runs and ditch the rest I think.

Well the humidity is like 55%... low as 45 high as 60. I turned up the fan in there so there's better airflow, I think the main problem is that we had some plants vegging without a fan on them. Next time they'll be tits.

The purps! I have a purps from the club in SF, and I have Mr. nice purps which I picked up in Humboldt from a buddy.. the Mr. Nice BY FAR kills the club's purps. It's crazy purple and crystally as fuck, 10/10 bag appeal, 9/10 potency, 9/10 taste.
