How does one effectivley keep the ph of my soil at preffered levels without it falling back into lower acidic ranges. Use happy frog soil and when tested in the bag it is exactly 6.5, however it will drop immediatly after watering/nutrients are added. Now I know how to readjust it but is there anyway to keep it the same with out having to constanly keep readjusting it back up????

What is the pH of the water/nutes you add? If the soil starts at 6.5 and you add water at 5.5 the resulting mix should be 6.0. Then over the next 12-24 hours the pH will rise until it reaches the baseline pH of the soil (6.5 in this case). Plants absorb nutrients at varying rates along the pH scale. 6.2-6.4 is probably optimal for absorption in a general sense, but plants may benefit from time spent at a wider range (depending on their individual needs). Water at around 5.8 if you have soil at 6.5. This will drop the pH to 6ish and then allow it to rise through the scale to stability at 6.5. Hope that helps.

The starting points on my nutes and water are always 6.2-6.6(diesel strand)seems to lack nitro if ph is any lower as almost a lockout occurs. Thats something i've noticed is the change in the ph over say a 48 hours period. I switched to soil and all organic about a year ago(love it) however there are some things i just can't seem to figured out 100 percent. When is the best time to take a ph test. Just before watering or a day before????????

The key to solving pH issues in organic growing is the right soil. Soiless mixes rich in humates and added powdered dolomite lime will solve virtually all pH problems.
Use 20% compost or worm castings to your mix. Then add powdered dolomite lime @ 2 tbs./gal. or 1 cup/cubic foot of mix.
