Hello all, First time MM grower. I grow for chronic pain and it works better than any opiate on the market. Anyway. I am not sure whats going on. I have an IWS. I water every 3 hours during the 16 on time. I use Humbolt nutes A/B. PPM is 770. PH is at 6.0, I raised it thinking it might be acidic?? 75 degrees and 50% humidity. Let me know if you need more info.
Thanks

PH is way high for starters...i'll let the hydro experts recommend a ph but start moving it down to at least 5.7. Ph needs to be shifted slowly and gradually over days. Don't do it all at once.

second.... plants should be bigger before putting them in hydroton...

and there is an overwater issue like CA said...

and that ppm is too high for those little plants....

and possibly your light is inadequate judging by the spindly stretched stems of some of those little ones. What is your lighting situation?

Fortunately all these problems are easy to fix. :D

So 5.7 PH is the way? I am waiting for my PH test pen, I am using the vial/drops method. For those I use 4 18w (100w) CFL's. I guess they call what I built an Intelligent Watering System. Buckets fill up then drain. They are just sitting on the HT. What should they be sitting on?
The PPM keeps going up? I dont know why? Any idea why?

Sorry to hear you're having problems. Few things I would mention. I usually recommend that people start their first grow in soil because with the right soil mix there is much greater chance you will have a successful first harvest, as soil plants are much more forgiving. Watering every three hours will definitely never happen when using soil. About that watering: Get a pump and a timer. Usually rockwool is planted in the hydroton so the roots can grown into it and all around it. You might be able to turn your set up into an ebb and flow if you are still interested in going hydro but its also not too late to transplant those plants into some soil. Hand watering a hydro system throughout an entire cycle would be incredibly difficult. The PPM could be rising as the plants are not eating as much.

I too suffer from chronic pain after a car accident and have found herb more effective than any pain killer, mostly because the side effects from pain meds really do a number on me. A strain that I can recommend you grow that has helped me a bunch is Legends Ultimate Indica, some people claim it has some anti-inflammatory qualities. Best of luck!

Hello AL, I am all set up with computer timed lights, pumps for watering, pumps for the nutes to mix, air intake.... The top part "clone area" is ebb and flow for the most part. The bottom is setup for grow. I finally have the system fine tuned. So I think a lot of what I am seeing is stress on the plants. Soils great, but I am far beyond soil at this point. I have seen great results from IWS setups, I just need to fine tune the watering. Any ideas on how to lower the PPM??
Thanks
