PH Soil

Wen u water ya soil do u adjust PH before u add water/nutes or let tha soil do its work?
My soil reads a 7.0 but wen i water tha water/nutes read about 5.0-6.0 should i make it 6.5-70?

I haven't pH'd my soil yet but I don't pH it unless my plants look like there's an issue. I pH my nutes before applying them to about 6.0.

Like i said, the plants don't show any problems so I'll leave them alone. Besides blooming rather slowly everything is awesome.

Sorry I rarely check soil PH only in late flower do I do this. You want to check the ph of your water after applying nutes to it.The nutes will bring down the Ph of your water pretty significantly

The only time I played around with the soil ph it was a lot more trouble than anything else

I agree 100%. Grew for years without even a ph meter.
I joined forums for help with a problem which turned out to be mg Def. I was advised to ph adjust my feeds to 6.5
Anyway I followed this advice for a long time and every grow I was having even more problems.
All I needed to do was give some mg to fix original problem but I blindly followed advice which caused all sorts of lockout problems.
Anyway this grow just gone I ditched my ph equipment after I talked to an old guy who knows a thing or 2.
He told me I need to let the soil do its thing. As long as what you put in is no lower than 6.3 and 7.3 the soil can handle that perfectly well by itself.
I had a pretty good grow once I stopped adjusting my ph. I knew after adding the nutes the ph was 6.8 and that was the one time I tested. Let the soil work.

To answer your question if you must adjust mix nutes in water then adjust the ph.

I agree with letting the soil do its thing along with beneficial micros and fungis amongus but in those instances when you do use a liquid fertilizer,it seems the liquid ph drops pretty dramatically even with PBP which is supposedly mostly organic. In these instances I do use GH PH up but worry what that mey do to the microherd. Its just something when using General hydroponics and your liquid reads orange or even red when pouring it on the plants.I haven't been able to do this its just too gnarley when you are used to that nice lime green PH color lol.Does the PH up kill the microherd like the down does?I haven't been able to get many to respond on the subject.Sorry for the mini hijack lol

In soil, the breakdown of nitrogen will lower ph due to acidic enzymes mostly by bacteria but also roots. Fungi can tolerate these conditions as long as carbon is readily available in organic forms within the soil and inorganic carbon in gas form entering and exiting the soil biomass via porosity. Soil containing peat is a good example of having reduced carbon gas flow but the substance itself is comprised of carbon. Coco i feel has similar properties because of inconsistent porosity. If carbon gases dont flow through the biomass bacteria wont digest and mineralize certain substances because the carbon gas is used as a trigger for certain aerobic symbian

So in short dont ph down soil if you use organic fertilizer because its leftover in the nutrients... Especially if youre using peat or coco as your main carbon base

So what about ph up?I have never had an instance when I used ph down except to soak RW cubes.Does Ph up affect the micros?

Neither up or down will have a drastic effect if prediluted in water. But in soil an inbalance of ph really only comes down to composition. If you think of it like a percentage of the soilmass its nothing. The ph is an inbalance of nutrients and minerals.

PH down is acid, ph up is silica iirc. Acid obv kills, silica does not
