PH lowering and EC the same

Hello, im running a rainforest2 t66 with a couple of clones from ww and nyc in it...

the ec is 1.2 water temps 20/21cº, ph been kept between 5.6 and 5.1
room temps are 18 by night and max of 28 with lights on...(usually 26)

Why is the EC stable and the damn ph always lowering(about 0.8 per day)????
I noticed a lot of build up of a brown thing in my pump...can that be the cause?

i used root booster from ghe...the roots seem healthy at this point...can that cause the build up i see?:S

Im sure the temps are ok, so the water has plenty of oxygen....the temps

is there something like brown algae?cause my rez is 100% light prof :S

thanks

Ok, I would think since your PHing the water that it is naturally not the ideal. You say the water is becoming more acidic? I assume you add PH up to your mix? If this is the case, it could be that the water is resisting your adjustment. If this is the case I've read that this is simply how it's going to be. You'll have to keep an eye on it and adjust accordingly all of the plants life unless you can change the type of water going in. You also mentioned that you were using other additives... if they are of an organic nature they will drag the PH down a little bit.

If memory serves me right I can tell you that algae isn't always green... Part of it's color is owed to the junk in the water around it. Perhaps iron will brown it? I don't know for sure.

Please back up anything you take from this post, I do not have any hands on with this problem. I'm only assuming based on what I DO KNOW.

I hope that somehow I've managed to help with this! Good luck! :rasta:

I changed the rez 3 days ago, and added only ghe flora series in case it had something to do with root booster from ghe...also added h2o2.

in my res i only put the flora serires, the ghe boosters, and once in a while epslom salts :S

Atm i can see the deposits forming once again and the roots are getting a strange color(brownish like root rot), even though the plants seem to be fine...

since i changed it the ph has only changed from 5.52 to 5.46, but the brown deposit is beggining to form again...

atm ec 1,3 ph 5.46

ok i got root rot...the growth is stuned...and the roots are brown, everything in contact with the water in the rez is greasy :S

How do i stop this?

bleach and h202 sprayed in everyplace?how do i wash the buckets with the clayballs and the plants???:S

i covered the outside of the system to stop light leaks with a silver tape, do i have to remove it to make sure the root rot stops?

i placed in the rez h2o2 about 4 days ago...:S

thanks

temps of the water atm are 20.8cº and before that were 17.3 (with my heater turned off and it didnt help)

h2o2 can help but will kill good and bad bacteria. You could also try one of those root products with enzymes. What you need to do though is find the source of the problem. Sounds to me like you need more airpumps for your water. This is a recirculating DWC right? I've been fooled before into thinking that because the water was really cool that I had plenty of oxygen but it turned out I needed more airpumps. :2cents:
