pH Drift disscussion

The definition of pH drift is simply this:
the slow, insidious change in the soil solution pH as affected by breakdown of components in the soil media.
This drift in pH is caused by environmental factors interacting with one or more of the materials added to the soil.
The pH of your soil mix will always drift with time.
The question is, do you know which way it's going?

I have been wondering about controlled drift for a while now.I don't feed anywhere near as much as I used to and my water intake is way higher now than before.
I never p.h. my casting tea but always set my water at 6 or slightly less.
The answer to your question is ...
No ,I don't know which way its going.

I also don't know if my plant prefer higher p.h. in flower vs.veg or the other way around.
My question is...
Do you have any insight into a controlled drift?

i dont know about insight, i do know this
weekly monitoring and documenting should indicate the drift direction
with that in hand you should be able to control and adjust the drift

i work with coco so i don't know how much i can say about the coco's drift
in general from the words of soma
the ph should drift from 5.5 to 7 and back
that way he eats the diffrents elements as he goes up
so you should want to have a drift from 5.5 to 7 from one watering to the other
that way the plant gets the full range of elements

the way i see it
i need to build a massive root system that can intake air and the elements fast enough so it times with the rise of the ph
i have never checked the pace that the ph rises but i know that when the coco is dry it can no longer be ph'd the same way
the normal ph of dry coco rises as much as 6.5(by wikipedia)
i do not know the number for soil and it might be treated diffrently also
i have never researched it so i can't tell you about soil
i don't know if the bluelab probes work with coco but i might try it out next
just to learn more
