PH and Fish Emulsion Question

So i just got my General Hydroponics Test kit along with my Fox Farm Bloom Big (they sent me 2 when i only ordered one!!) I just tested my tap water for the first time and it comes in at about 8, which is really high. I used the PH down to get it to 6.5, but i'm not sure what to do when i mix the fish emulsion in. I've heard that fish emulsion is very acidic, could the half strength dose (4tsp per gallon) be lowing my PH enough? The plants look healthy so far. I'm not sure if i will be able to even test the PH once the fish emulsion is mixed in. It makes the water brown and the test kit i have requires that you fill the vile half way then a couple drops from the indicator bottle. Should i just keep winging it with the fish emulsion?

greetings element, try adding the half strength dose of fish emulsion to your tap water first, then test it.even though the water is slightly brown you'll still get a reading you can compare on the color scale.then adjust it,it will probably be close to 6.5 anyway i'll bet.

Read this response #26 of mine to another guy with essentially the same question you have on this thread

Mix your water and all ferts first before measuring and adjusting ph. Measure runoff to find the difference in the two and to figure out what to adjust to next time to get the media ph within 5.8 - 6.8.

Yes fish meal and guanos and guano based ferts are acidic. Same with Floralicious Plus. Same with peat moss.

Oh yeah, get a digi pen. You can only test and adjust properly after everything is mixed. Pools strips can get you close, but a digi pen is as essential as a big HID for flowering.

Careful with the fish, it can burn them and you don't need much N now in flowering. It's probably 5-1-1 or something. That's pretty strong.
