Pet squirrels?

In this part of Canada we have black squirrels everywhere..

Today I saw a lady cross the road at a stoplight with a pet squirrel on her shoulder. It crawled down her back crossing the street, and jumped up to her arm.. Then crawled back to her head.

I assume she rescued it, or raised it and now it's her best friend.

A guy in my building also has a pet seagull that comes down everyday.. Most times I see him feeding the bird a burger, or sometimes fries/ chicken :D
The little bastard eats right from his hand

Many years ago, we had a fat raccoon that was addicted to timhortin timbits :D It got fiesty if it didn't get it's share

I heard of a guy that had an Ocelot get it taken away from authorities not too long ago. Also have heard of a few people with mountain lions.

in my world we have these parrots, they are ..like most parots ..pretty bad tempered. While many people have them as pets... or used to when I was a child they were usually kept in cages because they could do some serious damage to fingers etc.

We have this guy who seems to live somewhere around my work..... some 4 or 5 mile radius.. I see him all over.. .anyway. He has one of these parrots that sits on the handle bars of his bicycle. This is one old guy and the parrot is the same.. its looking like there are more than a few feathers missing.

The parrot seems quite happy living on the handlebars and they go riding about. You see the bird sitting on the bike waiting when they guy is off doing stuff. Haven't tried to pet it yet as it still looks a bit viscious... the memories of past parrot attacks lives on

as for squirrels, I would really like a pet like that. We dont get them in in these parts. I think there may be a small colony in a city park somewhere but they are the small grey ones....tiny.

The ones I saw in BC were much larger and obviously plentiful. They would make a great pet IMO. Do they have a rabies issue with them?

I thought about something like a ferret but I don't know...pets. gotta feed em and look after them and such. We have these little bird here that are like the feathered version of a squirrel.. cheeky, taunting the local cats, playing catch me if you can. They are about the size of a swallow but have the balls of an eagle. Very boisterous little beggers.

For those of you that care you can always adopt animals. For a small fee most rescue centres will allow you to adopt an animal and help care for it. I have a crow i've adopted which is cool and a Cayman Croc. The cayman really dont like me for some reason but the crow lets me play with him and loves to take fruit from between the lips.

A little humanity goes a long way these days.

I think it would be fun to have a pet sqwirl.

I've seen some people with pet skunks, and I've heard they are supposed to be better than having a cat.
