WELLLL... in 20 years of growing I got my VERY FIRST spider mite infestation..and it IS infested... DAMN IT.. Untill recently ALL my strains have been VERY spidermite resistant.. OBVIOUSLY some of the "elite clones" are not :D oooooh welll!!!! guess I DO need glasses after all lol. I have a product called "Pest Out" I've read about the pest strips and may pick some up.. has ANYONE used this??? INGREDIENTS : 40% cottonseed oil, 20% clove oil, 10% garlic oil, inert ingredients 30%... Sorbitol,Oleic acid, Lauric acid,Stearic acid,Molasses,Sugar...
http://www.4hydro.com/growroom/pest-out.asp

SAYS it's a broad spectrum miticide/insecticide..controls mites, thrips, and aphids AND many other small soft bodied insects ON CONTACT and it IS OMRI as well...

they are dead already just leave them for a week to get all of the eggs that hatch...then take them out of your room until you get another infestation

I've used Pest Out a day in advance of a pyrethrin bomb...which I would never use again. I actually used PO twice and bombed twice and still had mites.

Wish the No Pest strips worked that well for me.

There is actually a variety of spider mites, depending on your location, some like high humidity and some don't. Don't count on high humidity helping your problem, as it may help them.

Yeah...but I betcha all mites don't like those highly toxic strips. I'd almost be more inclined to use Floramite or abermectin sprays with the proper precautions.

Hey BT...You still doing KM?

She looks awesome...I really miss my Kali Mist girl :badday:. When I get set up better someday I'm gonna start hunting for a keeper. The one I had smelled and tasted like perfumy soapy sandalwood incense and needed about 4 months of cure for the flavors to mellow enough. It had this oily kind of mouth feel too.

Anyway...I would have sent you a PM but they changed the system and now I need 50 frikkin posts to PM and can only post once every 5 minutes :cuss:.

I've used it with limited results. I have had it fuck plants up though. A whole crop of 100 or so fresh clones actually. Be careful with that shit. If you drench them too much it seems to seep into the leaves and kill them off. Apparently it wasn't just me, as the guy at the hydro store, who sells other SaferGro stuff, won't sell the "PestOut" for that very reason, and warned me against using it (after I already killed my plants)

That being said, I am using it with great results on an outdoor crop of big, healthy plants. I just wouldn't use it on indoor plants. It may be something also with the oils and the lights?

Just be careful and spot check it first.

I did not have problems with the Pest Out affecting the plants but mine were well into flower. I was told to use the Pest Out to stun and weaken the mites prior to bombing them. I don't believe Pest Out is particularly valuable. Only time I ever fried any plants was when using and off-the-shelf sulphur spray. I literally stood there and watched them curl up and die...yikes.

Hey mountain, you ever hang out on hippy hill?
Nope...sounds like I should have though. I know of a Hippy Hollow on Lake Travis in Austin though...lots of naked women at that place :jump:.

WTF happened at ICmag lately??? People disappearing and new 'regulations'? I had to wait anudder 5 minutes to post again....

Back on track with the thread...Pest Out is a waste of money.

I don't know about the "pest out" but the "Safer" fruit and vegetable insecticide work's very well...$7.00 @ osh

the "Safer" is awsome i was so freaked out when i put mine out. i did not know what i was going to use this year. i waited to late to order online so i went to Lowes and bought some "Safer" soap spray. this year i'm glad to say that the bottoms of my plants are all bushy and full. this stuff works great past grows have suffered. from where the bottoms of my plants have been eaten. not this year though it stays on pretty good to it rains a lot here and the stuff has held on pretty good. i've applied it only 3 times in about a month or so.

Well I just sprayed my babies with SaferGro PestOut for fungus gnats. I will post my results. Why do I always read this stuff AFTER I have done something potentially fatal?
8/17/2009 before pic and three hours after, so far so good

WARNING - When applying PestOut turn the light off or it will burn your plants.
I am sure everyone else knows this but I did not and I am a sad panda. :wallbash:
