Peruvian Seabird Guano

Guest

I use Peruvian Seabird Guano occasionally in my nute regime and I was wondering if any of you have the same problem that I am having with it. I can't seem to be able to keep the Ph down. I follow the application instructions provided and I constantly have to put ph down in the solution and it dosn't stay down for very long. Any ideas would be appreciated.

sheesh Bigmo, that's a good question, wish I had a good answer, LOL are you in hydro or soil? I use it in soil, but I've never tested for ph. Do you let it sit and brew 24 hours before using?

I use it in soil. Yea I tried letting it sit for 24, 48 .... It never fails to rise back up to well over 7 almost 8 ph. I havn't had it cause a problem yet. I was just wondering if it even matters since I don't use it for every feeding. I rotate between Ph adjusted water, Ph adjusted Pure Blend Pro, and try to Ph adjust the Peruvian SeaBird Guano to no avail. Oh well just wondering. Thanx stankbud for your answer.

how about you add epson salt to it. it always seems to pull my soil PH down. i don't use the guano, but i use PBP bloom. the PBP is buffered with calcium. i need to water with 1tsp every two waterings.

do you get grow tips that appear to be suffering from iron def(yellowing tips), if so this is high PH

Bigmo, man that guano is something else to control. From my research the Peruvian stuff is pretty much harvested all along the high coast of Peru and can contain the guano of up to three different species of seabird. The harvesting isn't an exact science and I am not sure how it is processed.Guano will be slightly alkaline and using a large container to hold as much soil as possible for the buffering effect is the only way to work with it.Using it in hydro I wouldn't know.Soil grows can run a higher ph than hydro but it should still run 6.5 or lower for good nute uptake.I would recommend finding a good 100% fossilized guano and try that.

i also use psg in very early flowering sometimes & by letting it sit for a few days/week & bubbling it 24hrs it seems to somewhat stabilize just too high to use (over 7). I usually then add a little bottled fert.(PBP,EJ catyl.,even LK) to bring it to 6-6.3. I ve also used it strait without even phing it & it worked just fine . I do have dolimitic lime in my soil mix so i am sure that helps. Take care all & have a safe week 3ld :joint:
heres some of the guanos i use..psg(peletized) or the far right is (10-10-2.5) not to use after real budset...mo :bandit:
