PERPETUAL SOIL MIX- NO MORE FEEDINGS

Hello guys i am starting to go hardcore perpetual and i can no longer use teas or any liquid nutrient sytem as it isnt practical. I have been following 3LBS guides on fertilizing and the results are great but it really requires a lot of work including bubbling 24 hours and the god damn smell makes me feel like im in a fish market sometimes. PLus i just dont have the time anymore as i am one lazy mofo. Instead i would like to make a hot soil that would require no feedings throughout a 8 week grow (LUI) in 8 inch deep beds but still give me MAXIMUM YIELD. right now my standard mix is 1/3 soiless(peat,topsoil)1/3compost(seaweed, shrimp, mushroom, EWC & homemade) and 1/6 perlite and 1/6 vermiculite. i would like to ammend this into a "moonshine mix". Which fertilizers and how much should i ammend? Also i would like to use top dressing as an ultimate last resource so i would like the soil to be very complete.

i have read subcools methods where he puts very hot soil at the bottom 1/3 of the container/bed and soiless on top and that carries them throughout the grow. and all he does is feed once a month. do you think this is better then ammending all the soil for the beds?

Heres a pic of all the stuff i was using the only thing im going to keep is the grotek growthmax (foliar) the stuff is magical.

hiya!

just the 3LB doin' a "fly-by" . . .

soil mixes of the type you mention can be made . . . our experience is that they are a little less productive than making an assortment of teas etc . . . but we have friends that use them and are quite satisfied . . . certainly for people who can't find the time to make teas they are a good/great option . . .

please stay safe and keep on growing!

Hey fresh .....where ya been brother. Its good to have you back.

I still swear by the teas even with a good soil mixture. Just could not see growing with out them.

I have read sub-cools method. It is something to give a try but only in limited numbers though. Until it is worked out my way.

Again good to see you posting again.

the key to this is transplanting into different mixes. maybe 4 stage will suit you best.

seedlings/clone
veg high
flower low
flower high

you will want a mix of things that are used fast and some that are long term.
there are numerous soil amendments that will fit your needs.

its all on what you can get your hands on really.

homemade compost with certain ingredients also helps.

What you need is a good soil mix with blood/bone/kelp in it. If starting from seed, wait until the seedling needs food (about three to four weeks) then just transplant into a three to five gallon pot of that mix and just water as needed until harvest. For clones, wait until they have rooted. Check the STICKY for beginners for recipes. Or PM me.
