Setup - 1 5gal bucket - DWC

I want to add a second 5gal bucket, newer plant, to the flower hour... however the plant in there is quite a bit taller. So for those who do this, how do you get your new plant at the same height as the plants already in there?

I was thinking a stool or flipped 5gal but was hoping someone had a better, more sturdy idea...hehe

yeah i just use whatever i can find around the house that's sturdy enough. if you feel like spending money you can always buy rubbermaid boxes. they come in a variety of sizes and are all pretty sturdy.

one thing i always do tho is to wrap the sides of the pot with mylar so it doesn't cast too large of a shadow on the other plants

I do the same. Cinder blocks are a bit ackward to move around in a small area though. I always have a lot of short lengths of 2X4's laying around from various projects. I use those a lot, and just keep stakin' them.

Ok - so basically what I'm doing, with using a few landscaping blocks from home depot... I just dont like having to stack 4-5 of them, plus the water bucket on top...adds to quite a bit of weight in that single spot.

Was hoping someone was using a stool or something similar. I might try a bar stool and see how that fairs. I just hate using 150lbs to hold up another 50lbs.

You can use anything that's stable enough. 5 gallons of water is only going to be around 45 lbs plus the weight of the plant. If you only need 12", you can use a bucket. A bar stool would totally work.

I grow 6 different strains at one time in a closet. I use wood to stack them up to get the canopy level. It's the easiest way I've found that's not heavy. I have treated 2x10's cut to around 10" in length each. Let's face it, it ain't got to be pretty!:biglaugh:
