whats the perfect canopy look like??????????

I was at my boys place.. lookin at my mom room that just got switched to flower.. and im thinking to myself. man that's a lil crowded I might neeed to trim back some shit..

but wanted to see what you guys rock..

so lets see how crowded you run your flower room ..

and if your running a decently crowded room.. what do you do to prevent any problems.. im thinking just add a few extra wall fans.

Plant density depends on plant size. The bigger the plant, the less density needed. That being said. This is what has worked for me.

1 Gal VEG plants. 24 plants a light, allowing each plant a couple side branches.

3 Gal VEG Plants. 12 plants a light, allowing each plant quite a few side branches.

10 Gal VEG Plants. 4 Plants a light, topping each plant to become a bush.

I always trim back plants before going into flower as well. A good rule of thumb, I trim more when higher density and trim them less with less density.

In an 5x10 space with 2 1000 watter's , I have run 64 plants 1 gal containers. 36 in 3 gal containers, 18 in 5 gal bags, and 15 in 5 gal bags. Honestly the 64 plant set-up was one of my fav's. The 15 in 5 gal's was my next fav. But to each their own.......It was always to crowded, no matter how many I ran. Someday I wanna run 4 per light in 7-10 gal bags and see if I can match the numbers of some of my best runs.....

say you put 2 1000s over a 3x6 right.. and its over crowded but got 3 wall fans.. and is super healthy.. whats the main issue causing negative shit.. is it light penetration.. is it co2..

ive run 100s of plants in 1 gallon grow bags squeezed together.. under a few 1000 w bulbs. I know you can rock em close...

I just wanted to see what causes negatives when shits over crowded

I tend to pack them in. I've always been concerned about maximizing yield in my room while keeping the quality up. I like the 1 wall fan per light rule. Good air flow is key.

As far as negative issues. The plants can be super healthy and full looking, but I always pluck out the centers and fan leaves to open the plants up so they can breath. When leaves lay on top of each other and moisture is trapped between them it can lead to issues with PM, Mold, etc.. I clean out the lowers before they go into flower and then I do another round about three weeks in, removing anything that doesn't look like it will produce. Especially if they are really packed together.

I usually run 9 per 4x4 under 1kw in 3 gallon pots, but for a while I ran 16 plants in 4 inch coco squares with drippers and dtw. Growing style can be strain dependent as well. I know Norcal run the OGKB and he was planting an obscene amount of them on 4x4 or 4x8 trays since it basically grows one single cola with almost no branching.

Larfy buds where the light is not penetrating tooo..... I see it as u can crowd the shit out of it but will only get nice tops..... prolly nice nug at the top..... less tops allows longer buds.... light penetrating.....
