Perfect 10x4 Room

Hey guys... building out a room with a solid budget and decent space. Problem is the area is awkward and narrow, approx 115" x 48" and 96" tall.

I've been toying around with different ways to light this area and the best I can come up with is three 3x3 trays with a 600w on each. I had considered 2x1k but I feel this will be easier to cool and provide better coverage. Thoughts from the pros?

Either route seems good to me..

2 1000w will give you better penetration and overall density. Will cover that 4x10 no problems really.

3 600w, easier to cool, less wattage, more points of light. Lack of penetration however so increased plant count over bushes would be desired.

Both would work fine in that space. I'd determine your grow method/number of plants and use that as a deciding factor.

8 bushes total will perform better under the 1000s.
27 plants on tables.. the 600w would do just great.

If you go 600w just remember they don't dig as deep into the plant so shorter/more plants are better suited.. and do some defoliation after the stretch to allow for better penetration/less larf.

I personally yielded more from 3 600w in a 4x8 vs. 2 1000w in a 4x8. Higher temps from the 1000w was likely a contributing factor.

You make some good points... I want this setup to be versatile as I'll will run organic trees for times I plan on being away and hydro for when I have time to play with my girls.

I was considering getting 1k ballasts dimmed to 600 because they cost about the same out here in Cali. Maybe I will run them at 750w all the time, I think the heat will not be much of an issue.

I'd rock the 1ks.

If you're going to do trees I'd scratch the tray idea and hang those bulbs vertical.

Couple of bushes trees around some vertical 1ks. Can't really go wrong.
