djff, when I set up my CFL box a few years ago, I got wire where the polarity doesn't matter. So it wouldn't matter if I confused the wires when I wired them together in a series. Perhaps you could get the same kind of wire?

Maybe someone will be able to upload a picture for you :D

Hi PC growers!

Hi PC growers!

Well, a very fine assortment of pc grows you have here, I have yet to start mine but I will as soon as my other cab is finished, but in my searches for products for grows I came across this nifty (if a bit pricy) light from home depot. I thought it would be perfect for a PC grow in a smaller case, tell me what you think!

50 watt HPS floodlight

clorox

Smokin on that serious...
a little ove a month from seed my indoor plant showed HER sex today, about 45 minuets after lights on i opened up the case to inspect the plant and i noticed she was showing beautiful long white pistils :jump:

theres only one complication: im going back to college on friday and the plant is going to have to finish up outdoors on its own. :fsu: :bashhead:

its been grown 12/12 from seed and its just about a week and a half from 12/12 naturally here, should there be any complications? :badday:

Hey Growers,

Awesome thread. I'm in the process of building a CFL grow cab with rubbermaids, slightly bigger than a PC case but I was thinking of using an old PC power supply to run the fan(s) but I've run into difficulty with getting it to power up to start with.

Has anyone had any trouble with the adapters burning out or overheating? As the adapter will be my plan B.

Thanks.

Just buy a 12v molex ac adapter from zip zoom fly or some online computer store. It makes life easier and more reassuring....

Most new powersupplys have a jumper to the motherboard that is needed to turn on. I guess you could just connect the wire and it would always be on but as Ballyhoo said just get a 12v adapter. It will save you time, money and problems down the road.

Yeah I think the adapter is the way forward alright. "D4" on my new CFL bag seed thread recommended it too as a PSU would add too much unwanted heat. Thanks Guys.

I'm an electrician and I can tell you that any wire isn't directional. The color is only the plastic insulation and is only an optical identifier. Make sure you do your homework when you wire anything up. There's TONS of info on old posts to find answers to just about any question you come up with.

P.s. Typically - Green is you plan to be your GROUND wire. White is your Neutral (where all unused power returns to the circuit) and black or red will be your hot/power. If you're not 100% sure, then don't do it. :joint:

Wiring definately does matter, nothing worst than finishing a micro or pc at 2 am and firing it up just to blow a fuse turning all the lights in your house off... (dimmer switch, fan, long story... wanst even my house) but the worst thing that can happen when wiring fans and a dc adapter is your fan wont work, dont cross wires make sure they are at least snugly wrapped with electrical tape before plugging in and running a test, if it doesnt work right away check your voltage, then unplug the adapter switch the 2 wires and test again.
If you use additional wire (wire that isnt included with fans or pc fans) make sure its at least as thick as the wire from the adapter and the pc fan if this wire is too thin it will cause restricted flow

Hello to All
I am not the manufacturer of case РС because at me and with one computer it is a lot of problems :pointlaug
But I too thought, how it is better to make such boxing :chin:

24091PC.JPG

Dotted line - light traps, 2*8см a cooler on a purge of the filter, 2*8 forcing - coolers blowing a lamp..
The tight plafond in the form of U is made of plexiglas 3-4мм. On it{him} forcing-blowing coolers fasten..
Under this scheme it turns out, that consistently established{installed} coolers create pressure, sufficient for a purge of the filter
The ballast is established{installed} in a back compartment with the filter, but it is necessary to establish{install} 1 more cooler on it{him} having blown, and possible to establish{install} for a lamp 70 ballast from 100.. The lamp will shine more brightly, and the ballast is less to be heated..
Excuse, if has not clearly written :gaga:

This will prevent burning your mj before harvest. :bashhead: Good tip MH4LPERT

rkone thanx for the light trap idea, simple and effective the way i like it. Also Im getting another 70 watt light shipped and going to do what you did and just had a extension cord.
So I am basically ready to go. All i need to figure out now is what to grow it in?
My small black pc < mother is 15 1/2 by about 7. The big white one is 14 1/2 by about 7 1/2. I left some space to get them in. Any ideas or links of what i can use? I have been searching. Also what do you think I should use soil or hydro. I hear hydro is easier from Mr. Micro? If i used soil dont I need somewhere for the water to drain too? sounds complicating unless i can find the perfect plant pot. Thanx in advance,,
ps refer to gallery if need to see pics "even though there boring"
