Parents 'ignorant about cannabis' - Another disappointing BBC news story.

The other problem is the journalism put out by those on the other side of the fence (pro-pot, not America)..

The journalism coming out of BBC at least comes across like intelligent journalism. Not so much for the facts, but more for the style of writing, vocabulary used, etc.

Pro-pot journalism usually tends to come off like op-ed pieces or high school journalism, with lots of '!!!!'s and stuff like that.

Does anyone know what I'm talking about? :)

Yup - I hear you on that!!!! I cringe a lot whenever there are cannabis supporters interviewed on telly (usually after a dozen bong hits) or when they print half-cocked reactions to the cannabis slander. Stoners just don't have the media savvy required to win over a non-smoking audience. They completely fail to grasp how necessary intelligently structured, clear answers are when your trying to convince the audience that pot doesn't make you stupid. They really want to back away from that negative stereotype.

But the BBC reporting doesn't sound as professional as it once did. Too many news channels. The good journalists are spread very thin. I think we're dealing with the dregs of the talent barrel with this particular story.

The same can be said about almost every major news source these days, unfortunately. I used to read the New York Times every day for 2 decades. It used to have some very good reporting about major issues. Now they've become a Zionist, yet left of center, newspaper that panders to the well-to-do.

Shame on you for thinking the BBC is impartial. Both the UK and US governments learnt after Vietnam the power of the media over public thought and since then have used the media to influence thought to fit their agenda. Notice now how the BBC actually has an opinion. they are not entitled to an opinion, they are an education service and should simply present the facts so we can make an informed decision. What actually happens is they tell us what to think and then create a law to enforce it.

It seems to get stronger and weaker as the days go on. They need to make their mind up, maybe then they will realise they need to stop lying to people.
Damn, why everything needs to jump up and down like stock market? How will I know when my stash is in it's ultimate low or then again I may poison my neighborhood by taking one lungful?

The problem is that BBC/CNN and all the big media have the penetration into the average schmuck's living room, and we don't. My current thought about legalizing cannabis is that until the truth is spread in a calm, coherent fashion about why it's really illegal, nothing will happen on a large scale. And you can bet that the petrochemical and pharma industries will bring their full money and government influence (more like control) to bear on this issue to keep the truth hidden. And yes, most pot smokers tend to prove their points for them, at least on TV.

Yes, BBC lies and basically spits up whatever line the government gives them, as do most "news" outlets these days. But who is countering this? Bitching about it here doesn't do squat, just "preaching to the choir".

The truth might come out one day, but not until we can defeat the "jamming" put out by these megacorporations and the governments they own. And WE need to stop perpetuating the "stoner image" that cannabis smokers are just dirty patchouli-smelling lazy redeyes with no future, and who can't remember anything except where the chips are.

My advice don't waste your time on these ads they are propaganda and don't deserve your time. The people who wrote them know they are lies too.

I fell for it all till i was 17 and tried pot for myself.

I'd really love to have the millions to spare required to run a campaign of pro-pot advertising and a call to arms for all smokers - its a dream of mine :)
