i am new to growing attempting my first serious grow, and i'm actually doing my homework for once. trying to soak up some knowledge so ill go into detail about my perils.

i have 1 fem KM selected pheno@1gallon, 1 ?sex JH@3 gallon, and 2 MK ?sex plants in veg now under a 600W HPS in a coco80%/perlite20% fed at full strength with GH mico6 ml/GH Bloom 9ml per rez's method (i'm slightly apposed to this recipie as a beginner, but it comes highly recommended. i want to get a qt of grow just in case with my bulb this is a low budget learning grow with about 3-400$ invested thus far

i've noticed alot of deficiencies now that my very silly problems are nullified with lessons learned, pics are below with what i think needs a doctors opinion. as the plants finally start to take off (i've experienced and corrected many important beginners mistakes early on like over watering, and root rot during transplant. these are all fresh attempts after a failed run with ST#3 fem selected pheno which died, but was topped nurtured and rooted for a good mom for indica time SAVE!)

in pics, i'm seeing too much variation to really diagnose, the JH is the one i am worried about but was started from seed weeks ago not showing too many signs of sickness, KM clone just went in around same height as JH, and were both fed for first time concurrently with rez recipie, i did wash the coir used througly and ph'd to 5.5-6.0 but did not add any calmag. GH nutes have some calmag in them and JH was just fed for its first time several days ago and is bursting with growth suddenly so the deficiencies may be corrected, and as a beginner and un-firmiliar with genetics i dont see it but i would still like to know what im dealing with for the learning curve, anyone who can help greatly appreciatted. i just started to feed them several days ago, and trying to reassure or comtemplate what problems are foreseeable or even diagnose problems likely to have been fixed by nutes. the 2 MK were just transplanted today, and are merely a sexing/pheno project supplied with a stinky sticky WHL master kush hermaphrodite oz, these MK seeds are abundant so i figured i would take some moms when i see sex and just chop them down as i wish to run an indica grow after this with my ST#3

this will be an all sativa grow to keep an even canopy with the KM/JH. i am trying to veg these two up until i can get 12 clones or so from each, so i can SOG them and 12/12 @ around 6 inches JH is a bagseed found in a lemony fresh bag of some of the dankest sativa erb i have ever been graced with and i am very very picky with a sativa highs, so i am not sure of its true lineage, i started with 6 or so large healthy beans found or burned in a couple cases :( in a very pricey ounce of some very fine work rare quality ja. unfortunately all but one nice ripe seed was preserved, popped, and vegged away. growth rates since food are very nice as you may be able to notice, should i supplement my coir with epsom/lime? even after the fact that i didnt add any to begin with

also have a bit of calcium carbonate powder around haven't found any info on Ca Carbonate being useful for cannabis, not sure if this is a wise app though. Botanicaire calmag is un available atm as i have to replace a 600W HPS bulb i don't want to order more than one supply at a time or pay the immensely inflated price of my local shop which i have already frequented quite often early on and wish to keep my distance for awhile at least.

online from unsuspecting vendor= 50$ enhanced spec bulb or 100$ for hortilux.

local shop= 100$ GE bulb im afraid to ask how much the hortilux is.

i appreciate local shops and respect their margins for profit but i would only play the inflated cost in case of an emergency or to keep it all cash, (which just visiting the place is paranoid galore, no assurance store is any diff monitored than a leo website if you ask me. i am very cautious and dont give myself reasons to worry as much as possible.

im more secure with a cheaper online order from a very un suspecting vendor, if anyone can recommend a reliable vendor that wouldn't stand out, and has good prices on 600W HPS lamps please don't be afraid to pm me the link. i'm not sure if its true but i also have heard rumors about a dual arc 600 HPS availible, but i don't see it anywhere. just a rumor? i would fork out the extra cash if its available because all thats avail atm is a HPS ballast.

JH day 22 veg first day of 6ml/9ml gh bloom/micro ph 6.0

KM 1st day transplanted from soil medium to my coir (roots were washed from soil and placed into fluffy ph'd coir.)

KM 3 days after transplant, looks successfull to me as i experienced rootrot with my ST recently made sure to take that precaution. fed with a full strength solution this was today.

i am most worried about calmag because i see it applied often with coir, need advice before i attempt to treat them with any epsom/lime.

if anyone could shed some light on a delicious trichome coated JH pheno, breeder, club, cross, anything. it came from a 500$ oz of the best grown smoke i've ever examined. if it helps i got this oz with an oz of Triple Berry Kush which was also top quality smelling more berrylike than anything ever, reason i mention is i wonder if there is a breeder or club with these strains im sure someone might be able to steer me closer as i'm new, and blind atm, really wanna trace lineage of the seed, as i dont trust the middleman they came from cuz i know he liked to make up names sometimes. truly the most shockingly awesome erb i have ever had did i mention im picky? have extremely high hopes for this seed as its starting to smell very lemony reminding me of this nug. i doubt it was a herm as whomever cultivated this did so with perfection i suppose they could also be a completely unknown cross of some kind im sure they were there because of pollination, or something like koliadal silver so i think my chances of a keeper male or female are good. please help, i have gone into as much detail as possible please ask if i left anything out.

thank you.

I wouldn't worry much about ordering online. Indoor/outdoor gardening is a huge and very legal niche. I've been ordering grow equipment for myself and for friends for 3-4 years now, from dozens of sites.. HTGSupply, 4hydro, hydroponics.net, insidesun, lots of sellers on Ebay, etcetc. Straight to my grow op.

I feel much safer ordering online than I do going anywhere near the local shop. As for cash, use MO or a prepaid CC (7-11). I use my CC.

i don't let holes for paranoia open at all no room, much exp in security and i understand its not that bad but i make no holes for later wonder.

CAPN WALTER used to cultivate alot of mycelia some time ago, ganja is a more legitimate and interesting adventure, myco got me too paranoid, not worth the risk, but maybe you can relate since i see shroomery ad in your sig.

Main problem is, your plants are small and your pots are big. Certainly no need to worry about deficiencies, but I seriously doubt you can water that 'pot to plant size' accurately. Coir mixes need some lime to buffer against PH swings, especially if you plan to feed small plants on full strength and alternate over and underwatering (hard to avoid with big pot-small plant setups).

Accurate watering is only possible with a reasonable size pot to plant. Besides, here's a little known cannabis fact; plants veg much faster when they can get their roots touching the container sides as soon as possible. That means multiple up pottting with incremental size increases, not plopping a small seedling into a huge can. With proper potting technique and schedule, vegging plants double in size every week.

Another little known fact is that a condition of slight rootbound-ness during flowering increases yield. This is well known in other horticultural circles, just not cannabis.

Here's a "Kush My A**" (my breeding) in a quart pot;

It would appear i should wait a week or so and take some more pics, because with food now they seem to be brightening up.
