Simple question - looking for some feedback. A lot of growers use activated carbon to "scrub" air of the smell. Anyone know anything about packing the goods for transport in activated carbon? Seems if this is the most porous of all materials known to man - then it would be perfect for smell elimination in packaging too.

Yes, but in its raw state, it's filthy. It would need to be packaged within some breathable material which would not mark your goods that are being transported.
you might try multiple vacuum seals, then pack around the package with carbon, & vacuum seal that, too. just a guess, you know...
This might sound a trip, but I recently traveled between two medi-states... on a major airline.
Checked my bag w my meds in a vacuum sealed bag, which apparently was done poorly... opened up in a spot where there was a crease. Oh well, except the dogs sniffed it out.
Had wrapped it in a printed document that expressed the contents & both State laws that governed it's legality... all sorts of BS disclaimers I typed... illegal for anyone to open, tamper or remove the contents... etc, etc, etc. It had several 'wet' smudges on the writing & tears running down one side... the dogs found it.
They let it go along with one of the TSA warning pamphlets. All was there... nothing else touched.
Really happened... bout two months ago. Trippy...

Think you missed the point... We are progressing.
I did reference the actual laws governing both States. I had my legal paperwork on me. The meds were sealed (attempted at least... this is my bad) & labeled. The check-in luggage was inspected, as was the med container. They (TSA) let it go through.
Next time I'll be more careful as to not bring any unnecessary inspections. But should it go through a random screening or a scan, well it might not be the end of the world. I actually think they are screening for security threats, not meds.
Lots of people travel with meds now. ;-)

This is the result of a recent stinging appeals court ruling forbidding the TSA to open any item unless there was reason to believe that there was a weapon or explosive contained in it. The TSA has no mandate to look for contraband of any kind. Hell, they had to give the defendant back his fake passports! In the last six months I have flown numerous times between medical and non-medical states while with medicine in my checked bags and experienced no problems.
