Ozone Plugin

A high profile member of our family was recently busted because his neighbors called the cops after smelling an unusual odor coming from his residence. I can’t begin to tell you how upset I am because of this and unfortunately he is living the reality of my worst goddamn nightmare. Odor protection is absolutely necessary if you intend on partaking in an indoor grow, I would not even plant a single seed without it. I’ve used carbon filters successfully on a few grows, but my problem with filters is the reduction of airflow. I lose 30% airflow with my latest filter, and an increase of 5 to 10 degrees F in temps. I didn’t originally want to go with ozone because of what I have heard regarding health issues, and I am already far from healthy. So against my better judgment I ordered a small ozone plugin, http://www.naturalozone.com/product1001.aspx from a local distributor. My intention was to use the plugin during lights on, and the filter during the dark period. Well, after a week of this schedule, I total removed the carbon filter and ran the plugin 24-7. There are now no smells coming from my grow room, not ozone, not MJ, not nothing. I have suffered no health problems and no lung irritation at all. My grow room is three separate rooms that are all sealed from the outside. Grow room vents into room two where the plugin is located. This room vents into room three and air from this room is moved into the rest of the house. My last grow was 10 plants and 4 of those were SER AK-47. No loss of taste or smell from buds at all. I would suggest that plugin be placed in a separate room from your grow, because ozone can remove taste and smell of buds if ozone directly contaminates your grow room. This plugin is 100% effective for me at removing MJ odors from my house, and I sleep good at night knowing that my house does not smell like a pot farm. I am in no way affiliated with said company, and my only intention is to help out a stinky situation.

so, could i build a sealed box, which my veg and flower room both exhaust in2, and put one of these inside, would it kill smalls totally?. I was thinking of having rigid ducting, and having one of those Uvonair ones inside the duct itelf (after the grow in the line obviously)

Hi Harry,
Yes, I vent through 8” duct in to room two (bathroom). I cut a hole in room one (closet & grow room), and ran the duct through to ceiling of the bathroom and to an existing fan vent. The plugin resides in the elec. outlet adjacent to and below the vent. The door in the bathroom is kept open only 4”, so that the air in the bathroom circulates a little before exiting through the opening in the door, this door lead into a bedroom, and then to the rest of the house. There is no smell in the house, the bedroom or the bathroom. I’m sure that the Uvonair would work fine, but my issues are with the amounts that the generators produce. The plugin produces small amounts of ozone and can be left on constantly. The only time I smell ozone is when I put my nose near the unit. Two feet away and there is no hint of ozone. When plugged in the box emits a soft blue glow (in the dark), and makes a slight buzzing sound. The units $130us with shipping and is 100% no maintenance. Mine is going on its second season and is still completely effective.

Good post mate, sad to hear about Billy,
im a bit nervous about the smell of my pot growing and use too...

This is going to be great to try out.
How many rooms did that little plug in manage....2-3?

Cheers,

Awesome Forfingoz! Thanx for the link!!

So... How long will that li'l puppy last? I saw on the site you linked to that the larger ones never require a plate change, or anything... Is this same? Virtually maintenance free?

Hi Leeroy,
The plugin is effective for an infinite amount of rooms. Ozone is made up of three oxygen molecules (O3), air is two oxygen molecules, (O2). Ozone attaches itself to the odor contaminated O2 molecule and the third (O3) molecule degrades. The degrading process is what destroys the odor, and what is left is a clean, odor free, uncontaminated O2 molecule (fresh air). I grow 8 to 12 plants at a time, and my grow room is vented with a 500 cfm fan that is vented 100% into to room with the plugin, and there is no smell.

Hi Bob,
Yes, no maintenance at all. No timers, no bulbs to change, no filters to clean, no plates to replace. Just plug it in and forget about it. Best of all, there is no restriction in my airflow. I paid $300 for a powerful fan to help keep my temperatures in a reasonable range only to attach a carbon filter that restricts my flow by 30%, and would have eventually decreased the life span of my expensive inline fan. As for then life of the plugin, I’m not sure. I bought mine seven months ago and it’s been plugged in 90% of that time. I have notice no decrease in effectiveness of this product in the time that I have used it.

Thanx Forfingoz!

I'm really lik'n this plug-in gizmo, for sure!

I currently have a small inline duct fan venting my light and small flower room into an ante-room. That li'l fan is not enough to drive a scrubber {which I was about to build} for sure! I was going to have to put out for an expensive Vortex...

I am thinking now, that with the Ozone Plug-in, I shouldn't need the larger fan! And, of course, the plug-in is much smaller, and seemingly worry/maintenance free!

That thing looks like an ioniser not an ozone generator. Big difference.

Swimmer, have you used it? It looks like it could work. Hell if it worked for Four Fingers why would'nt it for me? Anybody have any experiance with it? Reading up on it Verite, it looks very capable. I was suspicious at first but it is a Generator. I found em for 125$. That was the cheapest I found.

Holy crap, I paid $35 for mine and it still works great.
John, yea sorry, that place went out of business.
Verite, yea it's an ozone plugin 100%.
Swimmer, yea, why would I use a product that does not work?
I may be stoned, but I'm no dumbass.

hey there. smell is about to become an issue for me here on my first grow and i just stumbled upon this. currently, i have no ducting in my area, just a little rotating fan keeping the girls happy.

do you think i could just plug this in at the corner of my room and it would take care of any smell problems?

another idea i had, was since im in the basement close to a chimney i dont use, i was thinking of just venting all of my exhaust air up up and away.

what do you guys think?

I wouldnt run it up the chimney if youre not leagal. Well not without killing the smell first. If you are then hell yeah if you have a strong enough fan.

well im growing legally by my states laws, but the federal ones say ney :*( .

so until then i plan on keeping the smell to a zero for any neighbors
