I've had an OZN-1 ozone generator for 18 months. It doesn't get that much use, maybe 60-90 minutes a week as needed. Everything seems to be working (bulb fires up, fan works), but lately very little ozone is coming out. When I first got it, I could smell ozone within 30 seconds of turning it on without getting too close to the unit. Now I have to put my nose within inches of it to detect anything.
I cleaned the bulb last night with alcohol and a clean cloth, but that hasn't improved anything. Does anyone have any experience with these units? When the bulbs wear out, do they simply stop firing, or does the output decrease? I don't want to replace the bulb for $40 if that's not the issue.
