Oxygenated Water.

Hi, I was wondering how many of you bubble your water prior to use, I fill my bucket up the night before using and then the next day drop the air stone in for about 6 hrs to oxygenate it, I've always done it like that, The nutrients mix better with the water when oxygenated and the plant takes up nutrients easier, I read about this in a book ages ago, What do you do ? , crumpledtrumpet:tiphat:

I have 2 air pumps running permanently through micro diffusers to get the DO level as high as possible all the time......you will notice a difference if you do this

Is there any science behind giving oxygenated water to potted plants? An experiment, perhaps?

Why not just put the water in a container and shake the heck out of it before giving it to your plants? Would that not accomplish the same thing?

In aeroponics, DO in water is less important because your roots receive osmosis from being in no medium.

In soil, DO is more important because this is how your roots receive oxygen, in the water.

If your soil nutrients are depleted and you are now adding nutrients via your water source, it becomes more important to allow 24 hours of mixing nutrients while oxygenating before feeding.

You can disregard this advice and still do fine, but then again 'fine' never cut it for me. I want the best.

There is some basic science behind it actually, Plant roots love oxygen, I would love to do a side by side experiment if i had enough space but i think i will stick to what i do with my water for now, It just works, Crumpledtrumpet.
