Oxygen Concentrators.

Hi Folks.
I'm currently using an 85L per minute air pump which was designed to run 14 fish tanks in an aquarium shop. I pump the air through 3 x 5" plate airstones which makes the res look like champagne!

However, it draws a lot of power and is the noisiest bit of kit in my whole grow room! So I was wondering if I should replace it with an Oxygen Concentrator?? The only affordable ones put out about 5L per minute of about 93% pure oxygen;

Would that impart more DO into the nutes than 85L of warm room air at C: 18 - 20%??

you wont save any more money on electricity using that, It draws 180w. also oxy cons tend to break often and are costly to repair. also the air comes out without much pressure. I would avoid them....

Get a better air pump iffy. Then mount it in a acoustic box and have it out the loftie! Sorted.

Yeah Mate Dave, I'm quite happy with the performance of the air pump, apart from the noise, so boxing it is a good shout but it needs a fair bit of room around it to draw properly. But with Oscarthegrouch's comments above, I think I'll give the OC a wide berth. Put my money towards a bigger A/C system.

Considering only the math-O2 content of air is mas o menos 20%. 20% of 85=17 L/min.
93% of 5=4.65 L/min. Good luck. -granger
