outdoor reservoir from a cooler

Looking for some input. I am trying to make feeding easy. I currently running a perpetual outdoor grow. I use fox farm nutes with some canna additives as well as some botanicare additives. Currently I mix 5 gallon buckets of nutes for feeding. Starting to get inconvenient hahaha.

I was looking to make some outdoor reservoirs out of coolers.

Weather here in Hawaii is 60-85 F pretty much year round. My concern was the temperature in the res raising too high from the partial sunny location.

I was looking at getting 2 - 100 quart coolers. One for veg plants and one for flowering plants. Maybe throwing a frozen bottle water too keep around 70F. Hopefully I would be mixing my nutes once a week instead of every day.

Anyways. Has anyone seen or used coolers as reservoirs? How would you run plumbing? Would a pump be necessary? Or is gravity a possibility. Blumats? Just seeing if anyone has experience with this kind of a system.

not really bro, I hear what you are trying to do and acutally the best way would be to do what those indoor guys are doing/used to do. get the largest outside really good trashcan and use that. I knew guys that were running multiple lights using that method. I use a shittier trashcan with chicken shit compost and water. it works ok, but there are waay better mixes. good luck.

they use a sub pump and timer to feed by drip line, bubbler to keep shit moving around and helps stuff not be stale or moldy and keep out of sun under shade. hoses can come in from cover or very top sides of can, but cover is best/less work and worry. aloha

Right on Ha-y-n.

Is there any reason to worry about temps? I figured would get hot cuz I would have it in partial sun.

I was thinking just having a res to hand feed from. But I would like to figure out some kind of automated system. Pump sounds cherry!
