Hello everyone - I've always used ocean forest for my plants in 7 gals. Before they get plugged into the big beds and pots with no issues until now..... str8 ocean forest, a few horsetail/aloe foliars and 7.0ph str8 water. This issue started a few days ago with plants not being as perky in the morning and throughout the day and now the tips looking like this. I foliar sprayed call mag at 4ml. A gallon last night. I didn't want to water it in because the plants were still kinda wet..... mag issue? ? ?

with the burnt tips and the lite clawing going on looks like to much nitrogen

Nitrogen and/or overwatering would be my first guesses. Your medium looks incredibly moist, have the girls gotten a few days to dry out at all lately?

Cal mag is mostly nitrogen btw, so previous post about toô much n makes sense.

Yah I fucked that one up.... but the Cal mag was just last night, the problem was before that.... so, too much nitrogen in the ocean forest. Fuck. What can be done about this? The plants are just getting rooted in.

Put a nice thick layer of sawdust mulch over the soil and keep watering as normal. Once it starts to break down after awhile you can repeat the process another time or two. Real tiny fine woodchips and sawdust are both great at pulling nitrogen out of the soil.

Also these plants were only going to be in 5 gal. Pots for another 10 days or so before going in the ground or 10 gal. Smart pots. Maybe I should just put them in different soil now and try to was some of the ocean forest out???

Got home and checked out my plants more. That ocean forest was so hot.... the new roots didn't even want to grow out....it had a crazy manure compost smell. I transplanted them into a nice mellow mix and watered them in with fresh aloe.... I think they'll be fine....
