outdoor flowers in May

In mid-April I bought 2 clones from a local source; 1 candyland and 1 white buffalo. I put them in 1 gallon containers and set them outside for repotting to larger containers later. It's now later, nearly mid May and both are starting to flower. The source tells me that they are not auto strains, and that I just put them out too early. I've grown clones outside starting in mid april before without this problem. Anybody else have this problem?

its all dependent on the region you live in. Im not familiar with discworld in may, so I cant tell you if you put them out too early.

Last year, I had about 8 seedlings go into flowering and then get stuck - would not revert to veg when the days got longer.

This year, I put some plants outside in February, sort of an experiment.

They endured about a month of freezing nights, about every other night.

Anyway, they're now loving the spring-time 12/12 light cycle. Got 2 more girls to go with a male & female Pruple Trainwreck x Apollo 11.

A childhood of freezing nights and rainy days does not make for large plants. Sort of Bonsai.

Another batch of seedlings I just put out, I will be careful to keep them on a veg. cycle.

Yes, they will have to go thru reveg and will loose size in doing so. I understand that less light prompts the flowering cycle, but prior attempts at sitting out in mid April were successful. Ah well, no more clones for me (until the next time).
