Outdoor 2016

[GMAW83]

3rd year growing outdoors in the north. Short seasons and bad weather are the norm. Here is some early season prep work. 50 or so holes. Recycled peat based potting soil. Some lime added. Putting out granular fertilizer this weekend. Plant out is about 45 days from now. If you have any questions, let me know.

How do you plan on dealing with the water in the holes?
Are u doing mounds or air pots on top of the holes?

Ya GG. Changed user name. I was banned a while back at another site......thought to choose another name on this site. As for my holes, The holes will dry out as the winter snow melts and is absorbed back into the ground. By plant out the holes should be fairly dry. Maybe a bit damp. I'm direct sowing so I should have no problems.by the time the roots hit the bottom it will be mid summer.

Hey Belivitez, thanks for stopping by. I think I won't be growing any autos this season. Early flowering northern strains. Not 100% decided just yet. I will post the strains when I am sure.

So how do you do em so they don't get root rot? Interested.

Hey Jared, well the safe plant out date is around 1st June. I am going to direct sow outdoors. By the time the seeds sprouts and begins to grow the soil will have dried out. The only reason you see all that water in this picture is because of winter.

I have some feminized autoflower seeds. I will use some when the males show themselves. I plan to plant 50 plants and whatever is male will be replaced with the feminized autos. I enjoyed last year's autos, I just have to plant too many for a good harvest. Larger plant numbers get you more jail time.

Cool bro I had to sign up on this site just now too many good growers. I am starting my first outdoor this here at 53 lat. Going to run white cookies (9 week) blueberry (8) skunkberry (8) kushberry (8) and dark angel (8-9) I didn't pick these strains to grow outdoors just what I had on hand this year next IL get some good northern texada strains or how ever you spell it anyways I'm subbed up looking forward to it

Going to run white cookies (9 week) blueberry (8) skunkberry (8) kushberry (8) and dark angel (8-9) I didn't pick these strains to grow outdoors just what I had on hand this year next IL get some good northern texada strains or how ever you spell it anyways I'm subbed up looking forward to it

Those sound like some real nice strains. I hope they finish for you. I'm around 58 N, so only a few regular strains will finish and are resistant to bud rot. I look forward to seeing your grow.

I forgot to ask what BraND ferts are you using?

Using Algomin. The red bag. It's supposed to be environmentally friendly with 32 micronutrients. Check it out. Let me know what you think.
