out of room HELP!

OK heres my problem,I germed 20 seeds 17 are growing like crazy I transplanted them all from 16 oz cups to 1 gal 2 weeks ago and now they are pretty much root bound already,I dont have room to transplant all of them to bigger pots and they are ready to be cloned for sex. Will it hurt the plants to stay in those pots until I clone and wait to determine sex,I plan on transplanting as soon as i know. Thanks in advance for your feed back.BT

Thanks for the comments. anyone had to leave veggin plants in a 1 gal for a long period of time...like a month past root bound? SLEEPY: I do have a shelf but that is for the clones i will be cutting.BT

I have vegged plants for months in 1 gallon pots before. They will need some extra nutes but try not to burn as usual. Take it easy Jubei

yea what he said and flush em out every 2 weeks ... when ya root bound a plant it is not going to die.. it just stunts it's vertical growth....are ya worried that tey gonna die or you only want them so big.. or what... you can always trim to roots . but from 160z cups to 1 gallon pots and root bound in two weeks ... i really think what your are seeing is you tap root is hit bottom , it takes longer than that for a plant that size and came from a 16 0z cup .and go to 1 gallon to be root bound that fast .. i would do a 3 transplant system start at 16 0z cups veg them 2 weeks , then go to 1/2 gallon veg two weeks.then go to 1 gallon for flower . and use square pots get more room from a square pt rather than a round one or use grow bags...hope this helps

I'm going to go square in my garden. It definitely uses space more efficiently. I wouldn't leave plants in a one gallaon for more than a month.
